dbrear
is my problem. I guess this means it can't be resized? (it can't) So how have I done this and how do I undo it please? David
MickRose
It looks like a 2 column text frame which has been locked. Use the layers panel to unlock it. There's likely to be a shortcut to lock an object so maybe you keyed it while trying to do something else. I'd check the Preferences, & remove it if you want to. I think it's "Ctrl L" on Windows. walt.farrell
If the Text Frame was inherited from a Master Page, then to resize it or move it on a document page you would need to use the Edit Detached function, available from the right-click menu for the master layer in the Layers panel, or from the Context Toolbar with the master layer and the Move Tool selected. carl123
If the Text Frame was inherited from a Master Page, then to resize it or move it on all document pages switch back to the master page and then you can freely move/resize it and those actions will be reflected on all pages that share that master page Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. dbrear
I Added some pages and they came in locked. I suppose this is a safety feature? I haven't found out how to reset the default 'Locked' behaviour though ... I've looked through Preferences .... D

Are those locked layers coming from a Master Page, or did you add them directly by hand on the pages you added. If from a Master Page, that's why they're locked. You can only move or resize them on the Master Page itself, or by using Edit Detached on the document page.
