The native file name extension AFPHOTO for Affinity Photo files on MacOS is unneccessarily long and could be shortened to 3-4 characters.

I'm also new to this software, and its a bit confusing (maybe unnerving LOL) to see such a long file extension when we've been conditioned for decades to 3-character file extensions like PSD, CDR, PDF, JPG, TIF, DXF, and dozens more. Many of us are trying to migrate from the Adobe and Corel mindset, and I think it would be more understandable if the native file extension were something like AFP for Affinity Photo, AFD for Designer, AFP for Publisher.

Er, .afp is for Publisher and Photo???

Myself I believe that if less is more imagine how much more more would be.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

LOL... yeah Bruce, I missed that one. Maybe .AFX ? I'm schooled in the Bauhuas ideals... less IS better.

From a quick Google search:

.APH = Ability Office

.ADS = Ada (programming language) specification source code file

APB, AFD = Planit Alphacam

AFX = Auto FX PhotoGraphic Edges

You can only squeeze so many extensions into three letters before you start running out...
