  1. I'm on Windows 10, drawing with a Huion 22in drawing monitor. In Affinity Designer and Photo, every time my stylus approaches the screen, the eraser tool is activated. This'll happen several times while trying to select another tool. Clip Studio and Photoshop don't seem to have this issue. Thanks.
  2. Is a Huion Kamvas 16 Pro graphics tablet/screen compatible with AF Photo and Designer on iMac? Any problems? Any advice? Thanks, Ken Shannon
  3. Hello Just wondering if affinity version 2 supports huion pen displays (no pen pressure with affinity photo version 1) or is it just wacom again?
  4. Since two weeks, I was searching for many hours, why my Affinity Photo showed only the splash screen and then an empty, frozen window consuming all CPU power on one core. I checked .NET, changed my graphic card, set the color managment to default, disable OpenCL usage, did a Windows repair run, installed Affinity Photo from 1.8.5 to 1.10.1, renamed a Capture One DLL, removed unnecessary fonts, deleted the settings in the AppData/roaming directory and .... nothing solved the startup problem. When sorting the installed software on my Windows 10 system by time, I saw, that I have updated the software for my Huion Graphic tablet about two weeks ago, which I am using sucessfully with my Capture One 20. After deinstalling the software, Affinity Photo starts now normally again 😄 I hope, this will help and save time for other Affinity Photo users !!!! Regards, Erik
  5. Hello everyone. I've bought Huion H1161 pen tablet and started to use it yesterday but I'm experiencing some kind of incompatibility with all the Affinity softwares. I've set the lower button to be used as mouse middle button to move my artboards/pages but it doesn't work. I tried to change the stylus button as "space" but still having the same result. Is there anyone else with the same problem? Huion Client Support sent me a software to test the button and it is totally functional what makes me think the Affinity softwares have an incompatibility problem with Huion Stylus.
  6. I have a Ugee pen tablet (UG-2150), and I'm pretty bummed with the issues I've been having with it. Yesterday, the pen stopped working all together. As I tried updating the drivers, I was told that there is no tablet connected. And this stinks, because I have a lot drawings I need to do. The monitor is working, but the pen is not. I finally decided to leave Ugee, and I am considering perhaps getting a Huion instead. For my workflow, I am interested in getting a pen tablet monitor, not a graphic tablet. Of course, I searched the forum for similar issues, but before considering this purchase, does any know how a Huion pen tablet monitor works with the Affinity products? Affinity Designer is the main program I use. It would be horrible to see if there are compatibility issues.
  7. I'm currently looking into if I should purchase a display monitor, such an XP-Pen Innovator 16 or a Huion Kamvas 16 Pro, but I came across many reports that drivers for these devices will conflict with Wacom drivers. As I kept looking it seems like the issues lies with WinTab APIs, it seems like each of these drivers will install a different wintab32.dll. So Wacom drivers will install a version/variant of wintab32.dll that only works with those drivers, and when you install let's say a XP-Pen driver, it will overwrite the wintab32.dll file that again only works with itself. Bummer. But it seems like applications that use Windows Ink should be unaffected by this. So long as the drivers are set to use Windows Ink everything should work just fine. At least in theory. And that's my question for anyone using this hardware combo on Windows, were you able to make both drivers work in Windows Ink mode? Were you able to retain pressure (and tilt) sensitivity in both pen devices? Affinity software is a prime example of a software where this is easy to spot since you can easily swap between WinTab and Windows Ink at will. Thanks in advance for any help given.
  8. I’m considering buying the Huion Inspiroy Q11K V2 Graphic Drawing Tablet. I would appreciate any macOS Catalina/Affinity Photo owners comments concerning this tablet, driver comparability or problems -tilt/pressure. Thank you.
  9. Hi Everyone, I just got a brand new Huion 1060 plus (8192 Presure Sensitivity) with 8gb SD card. But unfortunately, after I finished installing, I tried presure pen, it didnt work at all. Tab can be well connected. There is only the pen can't be used (not connected). Can anyone help me? There is some kind of setup for pen types? Thanks in adavance!
  10. I"m wondering if there is some kind of setup for pen types. I can't seem to see anything & pressure sensitivity is not working right out of the box. cheers, james-
  11. I bought Affiinity Design (for Windows 10) yesterday. When I launched the soft, a error message told that something goes wrong with the "pen driver" (I have a Huion GT220 that was working quite well untill ... yesterday !). As my "pen-screen-tablet" didn't want anymore to recognize correctly the pencil, I uninstalled Affinity application (in fact, we don't really know whether it is correctly uninstalled... in my opinion, none), but now the scrren doesn't work (I know that Huion Drivers are quite sensitive and ask to be "alone" to recognize the pencil... I had few monthes ago, to start from a fresh intallation of windows to get a stable configuration). I'm quite angry because Artrage, Adobe or ClipStudio Paint were working without create any issue ! So the Affinity Message that ask us to contact the hardware manufacturer seems to be quite irresponsible...
  12. Hi everyone, I have not long managed to get a Huion GT220V2 Graphics Drawing Display Tablet/Monitor. I have gone to use Affinity Photo (on windows latest os, and affinity version 1.6.5.135). When I put the pen to the display affinity photo changes the tool instantly to the background eraser tool. I cannot use any tool with my pen and display as when I try it just change the tool back to the background eraser tool? Has anyone else had this? I have even tried the beta version and the same thing happens! Anyone got a fix? Thanks! Billie
  13. Hello everybody! My problem is the following: I have bought Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer. I absolutely love both and appreciate the alternative to Adobe. But as soon as I enter the programs with my graphic tablet (Huion DWH69) and do the first click with my pen the cursor just stops and doesn't react anymore until I will use the mouse again instead of the pen of my tablet. My OS is Windows 8.1 and I've updated the driver already after I detected the issue and searched for problem solving experiences. Did anyone have the problem already or is there a suggestion how to solve it? Thanks a lot!
  14. I have a huion kamvas pro 13 and i was wondering if affinity designer is supported by the huion driver. Will I still have the same levels of pressure sensitivity?
  15. Hello, I have a Huion Inspiroy H640P tablet and pen and I am having the following problem. When I try and use this in the Affinity Photo for Windows 10 I can see the pen move, I can select a menu item, move layers etc. However, when I try and use the brush option it will not paint. I can see the brush move, change size, hardness etc. But it will not put down any colour. I have tested that I am on the correct layer and not using the undo brush, by trying the pen, then put down the pen and without making any other changes I then use the mouse/trackpad, and they work fine. I pick up the pen and without any changes try again and I can see the movement of the brush head, but nothing. I have also tested it using the Windows doodle/paint/memo option and all work. Affinity Photo version: 1.6.5.123 Hulion driver version: 14.7.6 Windows 10 Home version 1803 OS build: 17134.286 Laptop: Lenovo ideapad 305 Ram: 8GB Intel i3 Processor. So I have the most up to date version of driver and software, Windows is patched up to date.
  16. Hi Everyone, Made the jump today to buy affinity photo and designer. Whilst I am loving it all, my huion 1060 plus tablet will not work in either program? I have tried it in other programs and it works fine, I have tried different settings, even uninstalling the tablet driver and re-installing it but only affinity photo and designer refuse to allow it to work. Can anyone help me, I really am lost and need to use my tablet with my work on these programs. Thanks in advance! Billie
  17. I downloaded the trial yesterday, and while the tablet works fine with photosop, krita and illustrator, Affinity designer does not response to pressure changes AT ALL. I tried reinstalling the drivers, changing the brushes, fiddling with the setting, rebooting, and nothing seem to work. OS: Windows 10 x64 build 1607 desktop Tablet: Huion 1060P (new 8192)
  18. Hello, I'm shopping around for my first drawing-display - but I'm trying to do it on a budget so I'm looking at a lot of non-Wacom brands. I've used drawing-tablets for a while now and know that both driver and software support can be pretty hit-or-miss, especially with these less common manufacturers. I'm aware of the difference in hardware on these display-tablets and not looking so much for a comparison of color or contrast or ghosting between them. I'm mostly interested in knowing if pressure-sensitivity works in Affinity Designer with each of these particular tablet drivers. I'd like to know if any of you have experience with any of these brands and how well they work with Affinity Designer Parblo Artisul XP-Pen/Ugee HUION I did use the search bar before writing up this post, of course I know the Parblo Coast pressure sensitivity might not work according to this thread - does anyone know if this is still the case or has the issue been resolved yet? I'm really leaning towards getting a Parblo display, but this would really suck if it didn't work in AD Couldn't find any posts confirming pressure sensitivity worked with Artisul XP-Pen is rebranded Ugee hardware, I believe - and according to this thread their driver completely froze AD. Is this still the case? If not, does pressure-sensitivity work now too? And lastly, it sounds like Huion -might- work but couldn't find confirmation regarding pressure-sensitivity. I know from other software experience that Huion is generally likely to be supported - however it is at the bottom of my list ---- I've got open-ears to other brands of similarly priced drawing-displays, however of the ones I have seen these 4 or 5 seem to be the most bang-for-your buck and also most current.
  19. Hi! I have a pretty important question here ... (at least for me ) I want to buy a graphic tablet to stop wasting paper all the time. I usually create logos on paper, scan them and then vectorise my concepts. But I thought it was time for a change. So I want to buy a graphic tablet with a screen. (I've already tried without screen and I don't like it) So got on Amazon, and I found the Huion GT-185. This model is in my price range, it is big enought for me, ... As every good buyer does, I did some research : some say the tablet doesn't work with affinity, others say it does ... confusing. So, I would like to know if any of you use a graphic tablet with a screen that works completely fine and that isn't to expensive ... I said I would go up to 550€, but I prefer less of course Thank you for your responses in advance
  20. Hello all. Recently I ordered an XP-Pen Artist16 15.6 Inch Monitor Drawing Tablet and I'm awaiting delivery this week and looking forward to it. I have, however, heard some complaints before about calibrating colour, or rather not knowing how to, and being sure that drivers are installed appropriately otherwise there would be issues with pressure sensitivity and such. I heard XP-Pen is a very good alternative to Wacom and was more than happy to decide on the investment, but I was wondering if anyone here has used the Artist series before and would have some tips on colour/cursor calibration, driver installation or any other experiences to make sure that starting using it on Photoshop CS6, TV Paint or any other drawing software will be as smooth and frustration free as possible? And is there a chance that other drivers being installed on my PC such as Wacom or Huion would cause any interference with the XP-Pen one, as I have used both brands before? Any advice or shared experiences at all would be greatly appreciated. I use a HP Pavilion 15.6 inch laptop with 8GB ram, AMD A8-4555M APU processor and a 64 bit operating system on Windows 10 (with pen and touch support) if any of this should be taken into consideration also. Thank you in advance for your kind support and help. - Mark K
  21. I ordered a slightly used Wacom Intuos5 touch Small Tablet with pen, cable and wireless kit for $140 from a graduating Arts student. Does it sound like a good buy? Being a lefty I noticed Wacom's tablets can be flipped around and software switched. I know Huion has handedness settings but I still don't fancy rotating the tablet and have the labels upside down. My only concern is whether it will lag on wireless with AD or APh? I recall reading somewhere that USB cable is preferred. Can you advise me. Have Affinity staff got inhouse experience with this model (PTH-451) Thanks Michael
