Hello, I already posted this on October 24, just few time before V2 release. Didn't get any answar (and with the recent release of V2 I find this quite obvious), so I propose the same question again (maybe that V2 already includes some thing which will help solving this issue), now that the V2 has been released, hoping in a better luck... --- I know that this issue has already been discussed sometimes before, anyway... Currently LRTimelapse needs Lightroom in order to use all its features, and looking on LRT forum the author said (on last 2022-03-21) "... FYI: I've tested all other available Raw converters. None provide the required interfaces. So no, there will be no LRTimelapse version with another raw converter in the near future. ..." (https://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-lrtimelapse-without-lightroom?pid=51212#pid51212) Don't know the interface technical specs which may help interfacing AP to LRT, but making AP suitable to be used with LRT instead than Lightroom could help the diffusion of AP also in the timelapse world (LRT is the most used software for this purpose). What about if AP engineer get in touch with LRT in order to check if this is feasible? (maybe it's easier than expected or, even better, this has been already done and next AP release will be good for this too, who knows...) Many thanks in advace for the time spent in reading this... I am trying to activate V2 on windows and I keep coming up with this error message. Have reset my password and am able to log into my account online. Any suggestions? Best M

So, I posted elsewhere the problems with new installer . The SO CALLED option to install to another drive is terrible. Look that the MESS of a directory it creates It is important for a lot of COMPANIES and WORKFLOWS to have correct directory structures. The inability to INSTALL the APPS where you want is a massive problem for a lot of us in the GRAPHIC DESIGN world ( particularly in FILM ). I create graphics for movies and CONTRACT to many companies. I have had two notices this morning to stop using AFFINITY file formats and migrate to AI and EPS only. This is due to the NEW INSTALLER and they do not want to USE V2 because of it. Many of the companies and scripts and backups and a very strict workflow based on where things are and was the reason i was given. I just got away from finally use of ADOBE software. Now i have to start a SUBSCRIPTION again. This is a two fold issue in my case. FIRST off, I now need to spend more more money and go back to ADOBE . Two the companies are not PURCHASING V2 of AFFINITY Software ( one of the companies alone has 35 seats of the software ) .So now I have to output money for ADOBE and AFFINITY if i wish to keep using it. I love AFFINITY Software. Never had any complaints about what they have done or where they are going. BUT THIS IS A BIG SCREW UP in my eyes. We DON'T use ANY software that doesn't allow us a choice on where to INSTALL. PLEASE SERIF for those that are reading this and listening, Please give us the choice of the old installer and keep the users. Hope to hear something soon. Gary- 37 replies

Dear Serif, Please make the Youtube tutorials for V2 listed, so that whenever I want to find what, for example, a certain image filter does, I can just type its name and look it up on Youtube. I prefer looking at your videos instead of reading the docs. However, none of the videos come up in searches, so I find (in my opinion) lower quality third party videos instead.

Too bad about Affinity no longer operating in WIN 7 OS. Thousands of people (if not millions) still use it because it works! WIN 10 is a dog. The "improvements" made it worse. No doubt 11 will be worse still. And also too bad that AFF is letting MS lead them around on a chain. Aff could drop like a stone, like Corel did. Why do software people keep improving things until they are unusable? Ego, I suppose. What if winemakers did that?

We cannot install Publisher 2.0, because MSIX is not supported on Windows Server 2019 (Standard). Is a EXE or MSI aviable? Andreas -
I think that the current set of brushes should be expanded (for Archviz & concept art purposes). The current brushes for the most part emulate traditional materials, but they don't cover many of the typical elements in architectural design. A good set of default brushes, which Photoshop conveniently supplies, helps people get over the initial hurdle of migrating resources. More specifically, there could be a few cloud brushes (there are some in the free Dreamphography brushes), simple grass, simple foliage, birds, people and weather effects (e.g. rain/ snow particles). There could also be some specific top-down brushes for the same categories.

Hi, How to cut quickly lines like in my green area (9 clicks) and not all lines around the shape with a quick select ? I use the shape tool.

For V1, I had submitted plenty of feature requests and some bug reports. I presume that any logged bugs/ improvements won't have to be resubmitted. But what about those who did not make it to V2? Shouldn't it be possible to selectively restore the topics that are still relevant? Or is the idea that you do have to repost them? I wasn't around during the pre 1.9 era, so I don't know the conventions sadly.

Can we get a confirmation that there won't be a further black friday discount in 3 weeks? As a V1 owner, that just wouldn't feel right if I buy V2 now only to hear it getting a further discount at the end of the month. If not I'll get V2 straight away.

First off, AWESOME job on Version 2!! 👍 I can not wait to switch to V2. One thing I have noticed is the FAQ mentioned that V2 files are not backward compatible. V2 files can not to be open in V1. I guess it is recommended to completely uninstall V1 prior using V2? Does V2 import my existing preferences? -
Congrats on the release, you have ticked almost all boxes for major features I would have liked to see! 🎉 So, I saw the release vids before the youtube notification went out, but, I am still looking for the release notes. The help pages are still on V1.10, so that's not the place to look. Where can I find them?

Hello I'm new here and unfamiliar with marketing practices of serif.com. I noticed Affinity Designer is at v1.6 and often I've noticed software tends to end major version lifetimes before actually reaching v1.9.9 sub-versions. With that in mind, will existing users get Affinity Designer v2 for free or will they need to re-purchase access for it? In either case, does anybody know how long it may be until v2 is released and should I simply wait until then before buying? I didn't see any announcements about v2, but I may not be looking in the right places.
