  1. Hi my name is Gregor, I played with the new focus merge function in the Beta version of Affinity Photo. I'am very happy with the new function. Thank you
  2. Hello! I'm new around these parts (first post) so I apologize if this question has already been asked and answered. I did some searching, but I couldn't find anything regarding this. My question is: How does one merge or combine a self intersecting path/curve (to make a compound path) in Affinity Designer? I design type and it's desirable—crucial really—to overlap a shape/path within itself for maximum flexibility and ease of manipulation while working. Unfortunately, when it comes time to combine the final artwork I'm left with compound holes where the paths intersect themselves. :( I've attached an example of what I'm referring to. I've tried all of the options that can think of (Geometry, Create Compound, etc.), but none seem to work. I'm assuming that this is just the way paths combine in AD, but I'm desperately hoping that there's another technique that I'm missing. Also, I love AD thus far. Great work! Thanks for your help! :D
  3. Is there a way to merge layers in AD? I can't find one. Many thanks! Ravi
  4. Here is my attempt to merge a couple of shots of the Allianz Arena in Munich going from day into night. The Arena was being lit in rainbow colours to celebrate Christopher Street Day 2016.
  5. Hello, I was working on a file for a client in the Trial Version of Affinity Designer. I saved the document and closed Affinity. When I reopened, I was alerted that my trial had ended, so I purchased the full version. However, I am unable to open the document I was working on in the Trial version. Is there a way to open up files in the full version that were created in the trial version??? PLEASE HELP! I need to edit this graphic for a client ASAP.
  6. Hello, I´m new here and I would like to know if there is a possibility to merge a path (line)? And if on the other hand it is possible to divide a path (line) into 2 or more pathes? I think in Illustrator there is a scissors, but I can´t find anything similar in Affinity desgn. It would be really great if somenone can help me...! Thanks in advance und my best regards, sandfraeulein
  7. I enclose a file. 1) I have two green spot 2) Both spots are in a layer group (this group is 50% oppacité) 3) When merges the two slaps inside the folder, visually, the color green decreases. WHY ??? I think this is not a bug? Color_Change.afphoto

  9. Here are a couple of quick composites created in Affinity Photo, changed the blend modes, added a lighting filter etc. 1. Elephant in a jar 2. leopard waiting to board Allan
  10. Please add ability to merge photos. both HDR and multi row panorama! RAW file output for them if possible.
  11. If this is already a feature, then if someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it, if not I would like to request a way to merge paths. I don't know if this would be considered a boolean operation or not but in Affinity as it is, I have to have two shapes selected to use the boolean operations. I would like to be able to merge shapes that I draw using the winding fill mode so that the overlaps are combined into one shape (does that make sense). In Illustrator, there are Pathfinders and you have the option to "merge" paths and it will clean up and combine any overlapped areas even if it is only one shape.
  12. One of my tasks requires quickly regenerating a set of images (sometimes hundreds) based on a template. This is currently accomplished either with Adobe Indesign or Adobe Photoshop with Data Merge. I set up a CSV with columns which are attached to layers within the document. There are three options: 1.) Set the Text content of a Layer 2.) Set the Visibility of a Layer On/Off 3.) Set the contents of a Layer to a File Once you have the layers attached to columns and the CSV imported, you can preview each row, set the display to a specific row and export one/all images based on the data in each row. I could identify several more options that I would love to have (set the fill color of a layer) but the minimum needed would be Visibility and Text. Unfortunately, I cannot abandon the Adobe products until I have another way to accomplish this merging of data. I have not found any alternative software to accomplish this merging, so I am willing to bet there is a market for it. Inkscape has a plugin that nearly does it, but it is not implemented well and does not work with all shapes.
