Hey guys, Hope your day is going well. I am at a lost at the moment. I need to make my current pricing menu for my photography on 3 separate pages. Currently I have them all on one and it confuses the customers being this way. I want to make each page look nice but not knowing really where to start. I was thinking of doing a gradient for the back ground for starters. I attempted in applying a gradient and then nothing happen. The base layer was still white. What did I do wrong? I did leave CS6 for you guys seeing how you don't hog all my ram and have faster features then adobe. Then I was thinking of adding a nice border for each page and some small designs on it to make it look flashy. Then save all pages as a PDF to send to clients. Any help you could give would be great thank you! Also I rated you guys a 5 star so :D Hope to hear from you soon! P.S. Also Photoshop used actions and it was a huge help to my workflow. Does Affinity use actions? If not, when? :ph34r:

We would like to see a link or explanation for a keyboard shortcut (for example double SHIFT) on the welcome screen for a reference and overview screen. On that screen we would like to see a short explanation of the UI, basic tools etc. including the basics of field input. This is for the beginners. (Nice to have: Professionals could arrange their own reference screen with their most commonly used things like tools, strokes, styles, symbols, text styles, macros, preferences, texts, …) The size of that screen/window can be defined. Displayed by double HELP or double CMD.

I do know that there is another thread about the manuals and covering the html.index link into Calibre, but does anyone have any idea on how to adjust the settings for a perfect pdf fit? Ive tried adjusting the setting for 2 days now and still comes out looking distorted and what not. This is what I'm trying to achieve....... and this is mine...... Thanks in advance!

Hi all I am very new to this and have a question I am hoping someone can answer for me. I am used to designing in photoshop which obviosuly uses raster brushes. Is it possible to get new brushes for Affinity that are vector based, brushes like smoke brushes, head phones, clouds, grunge brushes etc. I look forward to hearing from you all Regards Jon -

Sorry for this title, but I just don't know how to describe.. I have the following problem: I have a photo which I would like to crop using an oval shape. I did this, using the layers panel to drag the oval shape "inside" the photo layer. Now, how do I move the original layer? I noticed, I made a mistake. How do i reposition the photo, but not the oval shape? I want to reposition the photo inside the oval crop. How do I do this? See the screenshot for reference.

Hello, Could you explain the signification of the very little triangles on the right in the layers panel (see attachment)? I find no mention of this in the help of Affinity Designer. Thanks.

Hi, I have bought Affinity Photo last night after 2 days of searching on the net. I have been using Lightroom for 1 year, as hobby and semi-pro works. I really enjoy it but i feel that I should move forward and Lightroom is just a quick package edit tool limits you in some ways. I have never used Adobe PS, and I have to learn everything here with Affinity Photo. What would you offer me for the start for fast learning? Should I start to watch all of Affinity Tutorial videos with taking notes and ailing them on my photos? or would it be good to watch Adobe PS tutorials too, as it has more source to watch and read and not that different from Affinity Photo? Hello! I just began on this new application and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I am sure that when I get some fundamental basics out of the way, I can refer to other tutorials for further detail. This may sound stupid, but I cannot figure out how to fill color into the objects I create or how to properly snap loose points together. Those are the only two things I have run into trouble with so far. Does anybody have a link to a basic tutorial or a reply on how to find and use the fill tool? -
I purchased and downloaded Affinity, but every time it loads none of the menu options are able to selected. They are all grayed out. Also, if I click around, a "box" appears that I would assume should contain vital information is launched, but the box never loads. I am new to Mac, and just purchased this Macbook. Am I missing some other software that needs to be installed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Error.tiff -
Hi everyone, I have been self publishing my first book, it is an origami tutorial ebook, everything goes well but recently both the Affinity Photo Beta and Affinity Designer Trial I using to process the photo diagram and designing the book have been expired, I want to continue my work with both apps but I can't afford to buy them. I tried to use other free open sources but their difficult interface and poor performance plus I have to relearn everything in this short time really didn't work for me! I have made a fundraiser page to collect donation to buy those apps. total $100 is needed, 5 dollar or 1 dollar per person will helped me a lot to get my goal. I will get my application result to university soon and later will start my university life if the application success. After that, I will have no time to make it. I just finished watching the tutorials for developing a 3D isometric building, which was very interesting. A great tutorial, but now I want to learn all the options inside the Grid and Axis Manager menu, but I cannot find anything in the Help topics. The most I found was a brief description of the grid system. Can you direct me where to find more information on the Grid and Axis Manager? -

Hi, I'm a long time photoshop user, I try to get rid of it... I tried to do some heavy edit and find myself stucked a few times: 1. After I select pixels I want to fill all of them with the foreground or the background color: how do you do that? Is there a shortcut? 2. How to quickly swap foreground and background color? A shortcut somewhere? 3. Is there a way to "apply" a channel to a layer ? Without that I guess I will stay on photoshop :( 4. How do you quickly change brush size ? Or change the shortcuts ? -

Since I am new to this application (Affinity Photo) I was wondering if there is some kind on help in another form than the one provided by the application itself. By this, I mean a downloadable and printable booklet or pdf given that it is downloaded directly from Apple store. This would be great being able to look at the help without running through a lot of screens from a menu on another page. I find this annoying because I like to try while reading the way a tool operates. I hope this is clear because english is not my native language. Thanks -

Hi Guys, I've been doing editing and design for several years now on photoshop. Self taught. I am looking to start learning how to create vectors. Is Affinity a good program for starting out? Or should I start on Illustrator? Ive been itching to purchase this software, just worried I might jump into the deep end of the pool too quickly. Thoughts? -

Is there any way to get the AD help window not to always be at the front. It would be handy to be able to enter help, then pull AD to the front to try doing what was read, then switching back to the help, etc. With it up front it gets in the way of using AD.

Hello - Please advise where is the best/safest place for me to download - affinity photo beta. ( I filled in form with my email), I have had it on the mac before recently is's crashing, I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times - twice in 4 - 5 days - Last crash, today went to apple - Any help would be appreciated - very strange -the affinity designer is working 100% Thanks for any help.

I'm brand new to all of this, I just started my graphic design major this semester. I know I want to get affinity, but is there a drawing tablet that works really well with it? Or in general? Or does a drawing tablet not work with the program (which I doubt, but I need to be informed)? Also, any tips, hints, fiy's, anything will be much appreciated. Teach me everything you know. I am a clean slate ready to soak in everything I need to know. -
Hi everyone, Now we're a couple of weeks into the beta, I thought i'd try to gauge some opinion on how you're all enjoying the help. I'm very confident that the help will serve you well, but it's really beneficial to me at this stage to find out where improvements could be made from a user's perspective. So far, this is what we've achieved... - Topics created for all functionality. - Text content in topics is mostly complete (but tracking UI changes daily). - Cross-referencing complete (i.e., See also..). and what we're planning... - Adjustment layer topics, filters topics, and other topics that need to be visually led (crop, retouch, etc.) will have before/after image examples. - Optimization of search results. For release, we're planning a strong set of video tutorials that will complement the Help. If you've 5 mins to tour the Affinity Photo Help (Help menu), i would be very interested to know your views.
