That is beautiful, I can easily imagine those hanging on my wall.

So I hummed and aha´hhhed over the reflected "C" and decided to get rid of it, it´s better this way and I got rid of the grass reflection too as I was not quite happy with it, resized the plane to fit the picture better and adjusted the propellor contrails. What do you think?

Ahh! Hadn´t thought of that Kitt Carson.
-
Major Leonhard (Kitt) Carson was a fighter ace in the USAF and flew a P51 called "Nooky Booky IV." There are a few NB4´s flying at airshow circuits in the US and the UK and this one represents a P51 based in France. The "C" is supposed to be a reflection on the underwing. It was actually a problem in Affinity´s blending but I liked the effect and kept it when changing from vectors to pixels.

Entweder auf die harte Tour, Seitenanzahl mal Stärke unter Berücksichtigung des Deckblattes. Oder mit einer Ausschießsoftware wie Preps. Either the hard way, page count times weight with a thought to the cover.. Or with an imposition software like Preps.

Unemployed thanks to Corvid means that I have a lot of time on my hands. A few years back I took a picture of Nooky Booky IV at the Hahnweide Airshow and always wanted to do the drawing. The background is a composite of five pictures, the last one from Jesenwang airstrip taken this afternoon. The shading took ages and the heavy file almost melted my mac mini to cinders, but I think I got it right, what do you think?

Despite having clean lines the Pilatus took a surprisingly long time to draw, the shadings and reflections especially in that colour were quite challenging.

The Fliegermuseum in Altenrhein is a gift that keeps on giving. This P9 only recently arrived. I always wanted to try to capture the propellor distortion caused by taking a digital picture, I think it came out quite well.

Seen your work somewhere before, absolutely beautiful.

it's my job to extract that vision and make it a reality. And that you did.

Thanks.

A little fun project to stave the boredom away. This pretty little WACO is stationed in Rheineck at the Altenrhein flying museum in Switzerland. It´s artwork from a picture I took a few weeks back and it was 2D´d in Affinity Designer. The clouds are a mixture of Cloud brushes and Perlin noise in Affinity Photo. All hail the Perlin noise.

Gaomon tablet

I had tried to deploy catalina a while back but the install ran into hardware compatibility issues, I have however just read from your post that there is a catalina install patch for older models from 2012 and newer, however my mini is a 2011 model that I bought in early 2012. I suppose it could be done as the hardware is the same, however you have to use the patch, which means you are forcing the SW to run on a system it doesn´t want to and as the Apple doesn´t have a great track record with compatibility patches I think I´ll run HS until mounting issues force me to upgrade the hardware to a newer model. On a side note I find the mac mini more than adequate and I think that the only replacement for a mac mini is another mac mini, however at 900 respectively 1250 Euros for the larger one it may be time to look at a DOS-box. -

High SIerra is the latest OS I can deploy on my 2012 mac mini, I recently gave it a SSD HD and now the performance at least is what I would expect. I have found that activating the integrated GPU in settings and performance is giving me the results I was looking for, actually I am quite happy now. However this is the first time I have used a tablet for over 25 years and I am still learning how to use it properly. -

Another annoying thing is that I can´t get a clean and precise stroke like you would with a pencil or a brush, it lags and jitters and looks like something a two year old would paint with finger paints. Grrr! -
So a few days ago I purchased a Gaomon tablet, a nice bit of kit if I may say. I got to work with it, trying new techniques and methods. The first few strokes with the brush tool work fine, nice and responsive but after about a dozen strokes there is a lag that gets worst and worst until it becomes unusable. I have to lay back and thing of England for a while before it catches up and that puts a dampener on my artwork mojo. I have done the latest driver and fiddled with the settings and read up on the usual channels but this is annoying. Any suggestions?

Don´t think you will be able to compete in a market where you will at best be a little fish in a big sea, and then it´s a case of having the right artwork at the right time with the right people. Even great artists have difficulty going head to head with so-called "artist pool websites" It maybe an idea to look at "Design Crowd" on facebook for an insite on what is hot and sellable at the moment.
