Yes, this will be great. Ultimately what will make Affinity a top tier platform will be having a marketplace for plugins/scripts. So that you can just click a button and add a feature/script to your application. Just like in the VSCode editor. As a developer myself, this would be very exciting to be able to start providing enhancements for Affinity.
I know we can't everything at once, but yes this would allow for a much better and integrated experience for script and plugins. Having that professional level of integration where we can add capabilities that just naturally fit into the workflow and new buttons, menus, context selections etc are available where they should be.

These look cool, thanks. I wish affinity spent time replicating the artistic filters from photoshop though and maybe added some more more general purpose artistic filters, then filter forge could do what they want with mac compatibility, i wouldnt need them. But yes, things like this makes affinity better for graphics creation.

Maybe this has been posted previously, but it's worth mentioning in this thread. James Ritson (Affinity Photo Product Expert) has created a LOT of great Macros to generate artistic effects, photo editing effects, Sharpening routines and other cool filters. Many of his Macro packages are FREE to download and import into Affinity Photo, and a few are available at very low cost. His JR FILTER GALLERY MACROS V4 is free and has a lot of very cool effects, artistic filters, etc. Most of them are highly customizable too. Many of these effects use Procedural Texture Filters (good for learning about how to create them), and I think all (or most) of his macros are non-destructive. Worth checking out!

    Hello!
Would it be possible to add a Glass distortion effect? This would be extremely beneficial. I'm trying to make a photo with a heat warp effect and all the tutorials I can find are using PS' Glass distortion effect...
    Thanks.

saint77 got a reaction from Mark Oehlschlager in Affinity Webweaver next project?
Thank you for making 3 fantastic products, i bought all ofcourse. You put the cost low enough it makes sense even for average people to get into high end desktop publishing, photo editing, vector graphics etc, and i salute you for that. But are you going to stop here? There is more territory to conquer.
So how about a web designer app? I used to use dreamweaver, and i used dreamweaver 8 all the way up to aprox a year ago. I can point you to a few new visual webdesigner apps already doing a great job: mobirise, openelement etc. But looking at what you have already made, i bet you can do this even better, and make it easy to set up more advanced websites. There is no green icon in your app collection, and it should be doable to make an app similar to affinity publisher, but for web. Building websites using elements/"blocks" are the new thing, ive looked at bootstrap studio but so far no need to buy it, and if affinity makes an app id rather buy yet another from you.
So i throw the suggestion out there.

Shift-clicking for maiking straight line is great, but this feature can be even greater.
Currently straight line is drawn with the final size. This is ok most of the time, but sometimes you need to draw straight line with varaying thickness.
Suggestion is - take brush size into account, when interpolating between start and stop position. So you can start-click with smaller size (for example), adjust brush size and shift-click at end position - and AP draw nicely smooth tube with initial size at start position and final size at end position

It would make drawing straight lines for design work much easier.

    PIXEL and BRUSH TOOLS
Holding down Shift Key constrains tool to straight vertical and horizontal lines.

saint77 reacted to blackxacto in Let us set grays, whites , and blacks correctly
I tried to color correct a Vietnam War soldiers picture for his son. It is a complete shame that Affinity PHOTO (an app for PHOTOS) does not allow us to set grays or any other channel correction. The white balance, HSL, shadows & hilites, is such a cheap way to send out an app for Photos, to me. Please allow us to set color targets within any photo by using channels and a cursor set anchors. This program is only for photos shot close to accurate. I want to be able to tell the curves, that shadows are only such a color, rgb grays are all 128, whites have a tiny point of blue only. This is the one big missing issue about AP, besides the missing batch processing. I will pay more for AP. I don't expect your work to be free.
