  1. I have noticed a similar problem on a Windows computer. No way to switch between open document windows with the standard keyboard shortcut control + tab. It is an ancient Windows shortcut - and I imagine OS X has a similar ancient shortcut.
  2. Ah but Publisher rewrites the 800.000 bytes file then on exit even when I make massive prefs changes, moves and closes studios. etc.
  3. No, sorry I deleted it during a re-install. Forgot about it. The new prefs file is 272. I will keep an eye on it. In Photo (release) folder preferences.dat is ~8.000 bytes Publisher (release) ~800.000 bytes
  4. In Danish we would probably use the Danish word for package. The word bundle/Bündel/bundt is never used in connection with software in Danish. Ever. The use of bundle in an IT context varies from country to country, so you may be right, @Uwe367 from what I know about German. The Danish definition of bundle/Bündel/bundt : uniform objects that are gathered tightly and most often held together by means of a string, an elastic band, etc. eg vegetables, newspapers or branches
  5. Made a quick test: Made drawing (web sized document in Designer: 800 x 600 pixels @400 DPI) Exported it and got this mismatching SVG code: <svg width="100%" height="100%" viewBox="0 0 600 450" Exported it after adjusting MORE: DPI (that was configured to 300 DPI) to 400 DPI and got correct SVG code: <svg width="100%" height="100%" viewBox="0 0 800 600" Or illustrated with pictures: Export - make sure document DPI is the same as in export DPI:
  6. That is lannoying 😄 Try this in this order: View -> Studio -> Reset studio Start Publisher holding down Control (also in Mac) and select 'Reset Studio' only
  7. Looks like a bug or usability issue. You cannot scroll. That section of the panel has a max height and without a scroll bar you just cannot see the additional tabs. Does resizing the panel or dragging it away from the other panels (so it is floating on its own) re-enable the scrollbar?
  8. This is the cu No, it is not simple behind the user interface - but the values in Photoshop do not reflect channel bit depth. This is the curves dialog when making adjustments to a 32-bit image in Photoshop CC 2021. Still only using values from 0 - 255 or pigment ink/values from 0 to 100% This is my point - users are not supposed to deal with math and bit depths but with meaningful easy to use, easy to understand, easy to remember tools. Speaking of - PS also has the extremely useful white, grey and black samplers.
  9. A user experience designer would fortunately have a more mature and professional approach. Tragic that neither you or Serif will get any insight in their work and in the value they add to a product.
  10. Clone or not; bad usability is bad usability. 🙂
  11. Bingo. Creative destruction coming to pulverize old school products. All those products will then be lost. Like tears... in the rain.
  12. Grrr indeed. But once upon a time in a Serif product - a good one - made this possible. Lets hope it will be again in a future (!) version of Publisher. Then via File - Export text this is possible: And lets see how cloud solutions will make review processes easier. At my work the older generations are challenged by the new generation using online tools that are lighter products - for now - but the online collaboration features makes working in teams and projects with external participants possible and easy. It simply makes working easier and faster. And months of lockdown didn't slow us down one bit either. That - lockdown - by the way made changes to "proper planning" overnight. Creative destruction will be coming (or did arrive already) to pulverize file exchanges and legacy products. Remember that state of the art weapons introduced in 1944 - 45 where outdated in 1947. Todays progress is even faster. This topic already has a foot in the grave.
  13. That is a ridiculous comment. Try the real world. EVEN with a "proper plan" you will often be FORCED to alter it. It is so obvious that this is a forum dominated by amatuers. And I could mention a lot of scenarios where export of the text content in rich text format is necessary and expected. That's what lacks in your comment. Knowledge - and especially knowledge about real life scenarios.
  14. They style is a terrible design choice made by an engineer. Now the values must follow suit as a domino brick consequence of that terrible design choice. It is almost like using RawTherapee's sliders. Photoshop of course also works with floats behind the user interface. But the user is allowed to work with much easier numbers that can be remembered, shared and makes more sense outside a CPU, inside a human brain. How many Serif costumers work in float numbers on a daily basis in any activity in their lifes? How many of the customers coming for tutorials and advice on this forum? How many of the customers who purchased the books? I still remember the integer values I used for various LAB curves I made in Photoshop 16 YEARS ago. Only Rainman would remember sets of values like X: 0,247, Y: 0,234.
  15. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/28fb9b8fc867ef11ffbae7a2ecd1225083df71d21b5269711ac2f5bcc83ee050/detection It shows that only one (Jiangmin... never heard of it) of all the virus scanners detected something - most likely a false positive and that is quite normal. ALL the rest did not. How to Set Your Default Apps in Windows 10 (howtogeek.com) If you enter this string in your browser URL bar: ms-settings:defaultapps The default app to change default apps will open (once you approve to run it).
  16. Different. Not an app package. My guess is that the image is stored in a DLL file - dynamic link library. I replaced the not quite as horrible - but still a close second - splash screen in CorelDraw yesterday that I found with a though search tool.
  17. Something is coming. I didn't expect decimal numbers, too geeky, but now arrow keys can be used. Check out the latest beta to try for yourself.
  18. Goes for all European EU countries actually. A legal requirement indeed. The public sector will have to purchase or choose software that creates accessible PDF's. We spent a year preparing our website and content before we were compliant. After that marathon it is very obvious to even the slowest person in our organization that we need tools and software that makes it quick and easy to create accessible content. It is simply now the new normal. Not a topic for discussion. I would never understand why Serif would want to exclude itself from this gigantic market by not supporting accessibility out of the box.
  19. I certainly hope not. This is user experience designer territory. Affinity is not an open source project in the nineties. And I hope it is not organized like one. Although looking at Photo doesn't leave much space for hope. And guess what. User experience designers do not debate choice of algorithms either.
  20. It is a weird choice. The view menu is for configuring guides, colour proofing, zoom etc. Configuring the presentation of content. It goes pretty well in Designer. The Resource Manager would fit better in a document menu in Designer as well. As well as Document setup and perhaps even print. But clash of the titans. Logic and old conventions in multiple OS'es. The file menu was always a mess. File = document ... yes but... arch. End the end consistency between the three programs would indeed be nice.
  21. I second this request. I often start programs and let them start in the background while I continue work on something else. I am not sitting like a statue waiting, ever. Affinity splash screens are fortunately not blocking much; I just don't need them and the two interruptions they make. Unfortunately I think the Designer 1.9 splash screen is FUGLY. Unbearable to watch. It is not colour managed or saturation is turned up. On a wide gamut screen on Windows it looks awful. Hiding it entirely would be nice.
