  1. When an issue is logged as a Bug, it means that an implemented feature seems not to behave as expected. Further investigation may result in the issue being acknowledged as a bug, worked on to correct the behaviour and subsequently resolved as ‘Fixed’, or it may (among other possibilities) be found that the observed behaviour is actually the expected behaviour, in which case the issue will be resolved as ‘By Design’. When an issue is logged as an Improvement, it means either that a feature has been implemented but its behaviour could be improved or that the feature is desirable but hasn’t yet been implemented. The ability to pin two columns of panels to the right on Mac and the ability to change the size of the interface font on Windows are just two examples of the latter type of issue.

  3. It’s actually called OCR-A (where OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition). OCR-B is much less ugly and much more readable by humans, which means it lacks the geeky feel of the original. OCR-A: OCR-B:
  4. Just to avoid any confusion in further discussion of the issue, @Iztok is trying to use hyphenation in Slovenian (sl_SI), not Slovakian (sk_SK).
  5. Happy Talk! 🎶 “You've got to have a dream, If you don't have a dream How you gonna have a dream come true?”
  6. When you say ‘uploading’, do you mean ‘importing’? Uploading usually means copying to a web server or cloud storage. Support for DWG and DXF import has been available in Designer since version 2.0, but support for DWG and DXF export was only added in version 2.4. Affinity Spotlight: What’s new in Affinity 2.4?
  7. To keep the letters vertical, use the Quad option and drag the top and bottom edges of the quad rectangle upward to curve them.
  8. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Kota. As you’ve discovered, using a blend mode gives you a raster result. To keep it vector, use the ‘Subtract’ geometry operation instead.
  9. That belief would seem to be supported by the fact that neither of the linked threads has been tagged with an issue number.
  10. Unless I’ve misunderstood what you’re trying to achieve, there’s no need to resort to fancy tricks with table cells. You can simply use ordinary text frames and rotate them as desired.
  11. As I observed in my previous post, it would be good if we could do what the OP has asked for: using relative units, and thereby obviating the need to trawl through things like paragraph indents after a change of font size.
  12. We can specify px, so we’re not restricted to physical units, but it does look as though we can only use absolute units. It would be good to have the option of using relative units, too.
  13. Duh! I should’ve been able to work that out. Sorry. 300 ppi is overkill for a 150 cm × 225 cm image. If you change the ‘DPI’ setting to 200 the demands on system resources will be greatly reduced but it should still look OK.
  14. What are the pixel dimensions of the photo? What do you mean by ‘fattened’?
  15. As far as I’m aware, to trigger AutoFlow you should only need to hold down Shift (i.e. not Shift+Alt) when clicking on the Text Flow triangle.
  16. Sergey Azovskiy’s Grade UI Kit was included as free content with a major update to Affinity Designer version 1. Please go here for a Dropbox link.
  17. No, I think you’re probably right! I read it as Here are some words Here are some more words and the OP wants to adjust those (lines of) words to the same width.
  18. <pedantry> Soccer is played on a pitch, not a court. I think you mean “the 🎾 is in your court”. 😉 </pedantry>
  19. There are various options for making lines of Frame Text justified.

  21. Just to add to what Walt has said, you can also use APh as the abbreviation for Affinity Photo. This makes it instantly clear to the reader that you’re not referring to Affinity Publisher.
  22. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Duncan. What you’ve described isn’t actually a bug. The ‘Character > Positioning and Transform’ route positions and transforms glyphs for the regular characters so that they’re smaller and (for subscripts) lower than the originals. The ‘Typography > Subscript’ option uses glyphs for the subscript characters where available, but there will usually only be numerals plus a few alphabetic characters, and the font designer may have chosen to make those glyphs look different from their full-size counterparts.
  23. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Hasby. Please check to see if you have a crash report that you can attach. To look for it, go to ‘Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data’. If you see an *.ips file whose name is something like Designer iPad-2024-04-12-083216.ips (i.e. ‘Designer iPad’ followed by a timestamp), tap on the ‘Share’ button and choose ‘Save to Files’ to save it to local or Cloud storage, and then attach it here.
