  1. Was about to post the same here. Maybe that's caused from purchasing Designer and Photo from the Apple App Store and Publisher from Affinity's website.
  2. Hello there! I can confirm the app gets unbearably unstable (freezing, unable to zoom/move) when using specifically the Clone Tool too much. I mean, if you’re just going to clone certain part of a photo, it makes no difference; but, if you’re doing some serious cloning for more than 5-10 minutes, the app just freezes and prevents you from selecting other tools. It also affects panning and zooming using gestures. It happens 95% of the times to me. I’m using a 12” iPad Pro 2018. - Enrique
  3. Hello everybody! I just wanted to let you know that FX Monkey's second free pack for Affinity Photo is out! Faux 96: 8 Color presets and 4 Overlay Textures. It has some hints on whats coming next too...ohh) P.S.: The previous Monkey Pack - Faux 77 is no longer available for download. A thousand thanks to all the people who grabbed a copy! Faux 77 was a teaser for a soon to come premium Monkey Pack: Faux 77 pro (more than 20 macros + Textures), so get your hands on Faux 96 while it's still available :) Enjoy guys!

[FREE] Macro+Texture Pack for AP by FX Monkey

Hi! Sorry for the delayed reply. As Madame points out, this was offered as a free pack back in 2017, to FX Monkey email subscribers. Now this pack it's $2.99 USD. You can find it at the FX Monkey Store. However, we're offering a new eBook/Macros combo for free, if you subscribe to the FX Monkey mailing list (you can opt out immediately after getting the free files if you wish): FX Monkey You'll find the subscription form at the bottom of the page. Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.7.0.122)

Was about to post a serious drawing lag using my Wacom tablet, but apparently has now been fixed on this release. You're on fire!
  6. Apparently this is more difficult to sort out than expected. Hopefully Matt and the guys look up on this, since it's really defeating the purpose of having such a great feature as custom wet edges.
  7. Hello there, As much as I'm loving the new Brush Editor features, there's a bug that's been around since the current stable Designer and Photo versions. I've reported it a couple of times already and I hope this issue gets addressed, because it really ruins the experience when using advanced features from the brush panel. When you add the Wet Edges option to a brush (from the editor), this option gets deactivated or non-recognized back when switching tools using the brush command key (B) and many times, when selecting the brush manually from the brushes panel. Let's say I need to erase something; I switch to the Eraser using (E), then I want to go back to my brush using (B) and when I do that, Wet Edges are switched off automatically, unless I double-select that brush... then, Wet Edges are back on. It totally ignores the stored brush settings. This affects dramatically the way brushes were originally designed. Thank you!
  8. Hello there, I've just found a tiny error when attempting to open a previously closed file through the Open Recent menu. It always returns this message: "Failed to open file... The file is already open by another application", even if it's not. What I do is to close Publisher and once opened again, the file loads normally through the same Open Recent menu. Bests, Enrique
  9. Hi! Determining the actual weight of individual Styles and Assets (Masks) that way may be kind of deceptive. As I mentioned in other thread; despite their huge dimensions (meant for big printed artwork), the largest Style/Mask only weights around 2.2 MB, which isn't by any means a huge memory-eater Thanks a lot for your purchase by the way! I'm also looking forward to everybody being able of using this pack at its fullest on their iPads. Enrique

    Using larger assets crashes Designer

Just want to add to this topic that despite the large dimensions of Propaganda Design Kit's Assets, the 'heaviest' of these textures weights about 2.2 MB (at 3,600 x 4,800 px); the rest gravitates towards 250 KB to 800 KB. So they're pretty lightweight to use, in general. - Enrique
  11. Hi Kenan, Thanks a lot for your purchase and your constant support! I'm really sorry you're experiencing this. Apparently, it's only happening on newer iPads, since I haven't had any troubles when I import the pack into my older 2015 iPad Pro. I've had a couple of crashes on 2017 iPad's but the Styles and Assets got installed after restarting the app or the iPad. I hope this issue gets fixed soon Enrique
  12. Hi, Sean, I already send you the pack via PM Cheers, Enrique

@Cealcrest This looks fantastic, love the line weights you've achieved here! I'm sorry I didn't see this before, haven't had much time to browse the forum lately. Cheers
  18. Hello everybody! As some of you may have noticed I haven’t uploaded any tutorials recently to www.frankentoon.com and all I can say in my defense is that this quarter has been crazy… the Frankentoon project has opened great opportunities for freelance work and I’ve been working over dreadful deadlines the last couple of months. The original goal of the website was not getting freelance work for me, but to offer simple, funny and easy-to-follow character design tutorials for Affinity users. And I really want to make more of those! In order to keep moving towards that goal, I’ve been re-structuring the way I’m managing the site. I’ll be offering some digital products in my store, so hopefully, I won’t have to rely that much on freelance work and this way I’ll have more time for writing free tutorials… which takes me to our main subject… Tutorials. This is a PARTIAL list of tutorials for 2017: Giving life to your pencil drawings with Designer Creating a video game Hero Creating a video game Villain/Boss Saving time with Adjustment Layers Comic-Style Inking with Designer Background Design: A Magical Forest Background Design: The Castle of Darkness Character Design: Pinup Girls Sketching with Affinity Designer and Pixel Persona Character Design: A Creature from Outer Space All of them sound interesting for me, but what really matter is what do YOU think. Do you find these topics interesting enough? Whats missing? What would you add to that list? What do you want to learn? What makes you struggle the most about learning Affinity Designer ? I’m still fine-tuning the plan for the first quarter of 2017, so I’ll be taking suggestions until Dec 15th. Thank you all in advance! Cheers!
  19. Hey there! Here's a quick tutorial/demo on how to mix vector shapes and bitmap textures in Affinity Designer. Here I'm showing a simple but pretty useful technique I'm applying to almost all my vector artwork nowadays. FREE SAMPLE PACK! I'm also giving away a small sample of my recent brush pack for Affinity Designer called Texturizer Pro. With this sample pack you can have enough to play around and get an idea of what the full set is about. Click on the image below to download this FREE sample pack and watch the video tutorial! Hope you guys enjoy and find this useful!
  20. Hello there! This request may sound stupid, because the least thing you'd want to happen when working on a file is being unable to go back to a previous color adjustment/setting. And in that regard, Affinity Photo is a beast! I've files with literally dozens of Adjustment Layers stacked upon each other... UNLESS... you're working on a schedule, being TIME your most relentless enemy when you're hired per hour. Last week I helped on a matte-painting project for a gaming company and (I haven't noticed this workflow issue until then), creating an Adjustment Layer whenever you need to make a quick Levels, Curves, HSL, etc. tweak and keep painting over, can become your worst nightmare when having just 8 hours to deliver 4 on-set paintings. I know you can merge that layer immediately after you've made the adjustment (even with a shortcut), but BELIEVE ME, having to: 1. Create the Adjustment Layer. 2. Nesting it to the specific layer you need to apply the tweak (if not, it affects all layers) 3. Merging it down 4. Repeat for the next one... It's a very tiring set of tasks you need to do, only to make the shadows of a single tree more intense (I.E.), inside a dozens-of-layers scene. Hope this request makes sense, because it's directly related with money and delivery times and will improve A LOT certain type of work pipelines. Cheers, Enrique
  21. This is a nice suggestion. I was a color-layer junkie back when I used Photoshop everyday. It may seem like a trivial thing, but when you've been sitting for 8 straight hours a day working on several files, marking layers with colors are a BIG visual aid. Cheers.
  22. I would love to have this feature.
  23. THANK YOU! that worked... I would give you a hug if I could haha @Alfred You're right. the key here is CTRL in both Windows and Mac. Thanks!
  24. HI there! I've been struggling for hours trying to open Affinity Photo on my iMac, which it's freezing when I try to open it (reinstalling, safe boot and all that stuff didn't work). I identified the problem immediately after it happened: I was creating a new brush When I tried to load a texture, the program crashed Then I re-opened AP, tried to load that texture again and AP crashed again I didn't try to reload that texture again, because I figured out that it was causing the program to crash I re-opened AP for a third time, and since then, the app freezes before it gets started I wan't to know how to delete all my brushes manually from outside the program... As far as I know, there's no data stored in Mac's Library Folder right?, so I can't figure out how to delete that brushes and prevent AP to try looking for them when starting up... any idea on how to purge the cache would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.
