You're not wrong. I can't remember what happened to her, as I was asked to look after the paramedic's two wheeled ambulance, a black mountain bike with flashing BLUE LEDS! No danger of SMIDSY with that one! As for me, a slo descender on the tarmac: it's the slowies that are the worst. I once fell over, because a stupid mobility scooter couldn't decide which way he was going. The fact that I was doing about 3mph, and clipped in, going slower than him didn't bode well, on the wet concrete underpass floor. I lost all grip and landed squarely on my right hip. God, I howled. That went straight through the skin. muscle and bone. Talk about bruised marrow! Mr Dozy just carried on regardless.

For a while, the Semi-pro bike race came to Peterborough and did a few laps of the town centre. The events were held in Spring and after the shops were closed, typically 7pm starts. So as you can imagine the lighting was always tricky: some years were more photogenic than others.

You too, have a good eye and digital skills. Paris was amazing for Metro train art, the CDG airport line was a truly amazing hotspot in 1993. The fact that they've got no erase button, nerves of steel and usually a very early start, all without getting caught: all adds to the stress and excitement...

Considering this was my first ever helicopter flight, I think I did Ok. I just held the camera very tightly, without using the screen or viewfinder, just like my stomach and at about 1000 ft pressed the button. I've checked it against Google Earth (Desktop and web versions) and I did a better job than they did. Not bad for my first effort. Santini Air would be proud. Location? Middleton School and Tyesdale, Bretton, Peterborough.

This is a brilliant piece of graffiti, found near the Grand Union Canal, near Milton Keynes. Just where the aqueduct crosses the river. The sun was burning hot (remember that?) and this was hiding on the North facing wall. That's why there is some burn out on the wild grasses. Otherwise a perfect picture I think. Saying that Coma Prison might be next big TV series. A dystopian tale about prisoners who are voluntarily put into stasis, on an orbiting , so they can colonise mars and other places when they get there in several months time...a cross between the Aussie convicts and your typical deep space/deep sleep scenario. Nothing like Red Dwarf of course.

This was done on the same weekend as the robin. Again the light was failing and it wasn't warm either, but the posing livestock was too much to resist. Red-eye effect is sometimes worth keeping, when the flash goes off. I used the same editing technique, to improve the dullness. We_are_the_robots.afphoto

All I did was work my way through the adjustment layers and looked at the whole of the picture, before moving on to the next adjustment layer.

Despite the fact the light was lousy, I managed to get this lil' chap in focus: if he could stay still long enough. All settings were auto on my camera. Added to the fact that he was only 10 feet away, he was well hidden within the bright orange barrier mesh and it is one week away from Easter A quick tweak in APh, by adding several adjustments one by one and voila. A half decent pic.

I just downloaded the fonts, they're really cute.

I've just got to page 109 and noticed there is a single bullet pointed paragraph, that is missing two to three letters on the left hand side of each sentence. Did anybody else notice this in their copy? I've highlighted the offending paragraph in the second photo.
