@colinh, I see you're using a Nvidia GT640 card. Are you able to use the Hardware Acceleration? Before upgrading to my current, I used a similar one, the GTX 645, and I couldn't use Hardware Acceleration. Have you tried turning that on, by checking the box beside it?

Welcome to the forums Serif will need more info to figure out why the app is crashing on your system. What OS and Version? What App? Just one app, or all? What specifically are you doing when it crashes? Can you please attach a Crash Report to your post? Is it just a certain document, new document, any document? The document being worked on, stored on a local, network, USB, Cloud? What GPU (video/graphic) card are you using? Are the drivers up to date?

The Vector Crop Tool is still present in AD 2.

Just thought of this... Right-click on the Windows Taskbar. Select Taskbar Settings. Turn on the Automatically Hide Taskbar in Desktop mode.. Or when right-clicking on the Taskbar, uncheck Lock all Taskbars, and just drag it off to the right or left or top out of your way.

Yes it would, however there's not one. Probably because most are using monitors with a lot more resolution. That's why I counted the number of Tab key presses, so you would have an idea of where the focus/cursor is.

You can try using the Tab key. You need to pay attention to what is highlighted in the 2 boxes (Affinity Photo2 & All Affinity 2 apps). I tried this numerous times, counting the number of times the Tab key was pressed to land on the Clear button. What always ended up with 8 times and the Clear button was selected. 7 times was the Deactivate (don't want that one), 9 times was the Cancel button. The Tab key highlighting should start at the top of the dialog and progress down. Outside of the above, you're going to have to press the X close button in the top-right.

Have you tried bumping up the Ram Usage Limit ? I only have 32GB and so far have never had any of the Affinity apps freeze up like this. Try playing with this setting so see if Designer stops freezing up.

I'm not a Mac user so not familiar with them. Just done a quick look up on your M2 Mac Studio, little thing First I failed to answer your question if V1 or the Beta could be interfering. No, I don't think so. V1 used the exe installer. Serif changed to using the sandboxed method of MSIX/MSI installers. The Betas and Release/Retail versions are completely separate apps/programs. However brushes, assets are linked together, ie; you don't have to re-download and install. Could that be a problem? I don't really know. I haven't seen any issues since V2.0, where there would be double brushes, assets listed. Since you're not using anything, just moving your mouse across the view window, could there be a problem with your mouse? You using Bluetooth or wireless for your mouse? I see you use a Wacom tablet. Do you get the same problem if you use it in lieu of the mouse? Is the Wacom wireless or wired? Is it constantly connected? If so have you tried disconnecting it and see if the issue is still there? Could you provide a screen shot of your Performance settings? (Settings>Performance) You might also try resetting the app. I think it's the same for Macs as for Windows. Hold down the Control key while launching AP. The Clear User Data window will appear in front of the splash screen. By default the top 3 are selected. Just press Clear at the bottom right. AP will continue to launch. See if that corrects the problem. Aside from those, I'm at a loss. Have to wait and see what Serif's staff says about it.

Photo 2.4 Beta, and Photo 2.4 Retail are the same. They are both 2.4.0.2301. That said, in the Retail version, there is a bug affecting display of RAW files. I don't know if the bug could also be causing your issue. To test this, go to Preferences>Performance, and disable Hardware Acceleration. Restart Photo and see if the problem persists.

I use an app that meets some of your criteria, not all. Do you or have you experience with After Effects? If so then using Black Magic Design DaVinci Resolve, should be easier for you. Within DaVinci Resolve is Fusion, which can run circles around After Effects. It is a professional editing/production suite. It does come with a very steep learning curve. For the Pros they gladly pay the ~$300 price, BUT, they do have a Free version too, which is what I use. You can do just about everything in it, that can be done in the paid version. TBH, they could probably get away with charging over $1k for it. Black Magic's money comes from the hardware. Cameras, consoles for big production companies, that sell for $10k-$50k. The reason I started using it, is the video editing, and I was tired of running up against the wall with the cheap editors, like Corel's, and wasn't going to throw money at Adobe. I tried others but didn't like them. I'd recommend Googling video editors, animation apps (software) to find what might fit your needs.

Do you mean setting a shortcut of D to go from the Photo to the Develop Persona? Or did you somehow manage to set a shortcut that would be equal to pressing the Develop Button in the Develop Persona? I can not find a way to do that. I think it's not possible to assign a shortcut for telling AP to Develop the RAW file.

I also like using the RGB Parade. However there's currently no way to make it the default. Perhaps make a request in the Feedback & Suggestions

Hasn't affected my system. Running W10, Nvidia RTX 3070, MSIX install of Affinity apps. I've download the reported problem files and they all have worked for me. I shoot Canon, that produces CR2 files and have no issue.

I can't believe I just noticed this 😮, after updating the retail versions to 2.4. In all apps (AP,AD, and APub), my Tools, Toolbar, and Studios were reset to the defaults. I had all of them setup how I liked and worked with them. This is the first time it's happened, previous updates maintained my custom settings. Wasn't that big of an issue, since I still have the last Betas installed. I simply copied the .xml files from those to the retail folders.

😮😮, Yep seeing the same thing on Windows 10 Correction, I don't think it is happening on Windows. When I tested this I grabbed one of the Sample files. Of course when they're downloaded, they reside in a protected area under the .affinity folder. I just tested using one of my project files, the Edit in is available.

What is the File Type of the Unedited File? Is the JPEG file just that or could it be a JPEG XL or WEBP? Checking with the Skype help on their website it doesn't not mention JPEG XL or WEBP, just JPEG, GIF, Emoticon or Sticker. SKYPE Share Files, Photos
