  1. There was for a short time, when Google first purchased it. No longer free. DXO owns it now.
  2. You need to provide a lot more details.
  3. No matter which tool you're using, when you are not over the Document Window, it automatically changes to the Move tool. I think this is a good. IF not, you would need to change to the Move tool every time you want to make changes in the Layers or any other Panel, and then change back to whatever tool you were using. This way, you don't.
  4. @MDY Welcome to the forums Is Show Left Studio checked under the Window>Studio menu?
  5. So do I. I've downloaded and tried the London2 file provided in this thread. I can not get AP to hang or crash, not matter what I do.
  6. I'm thinking that's where your problem is, not any of the Affinity apps. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=windows+11+24h2+site%3Aforum.affinity.serif.com&ia=web
  7. Welcome to the forums Look at the date on the first post in this thread... 2022. There's so many alternative ways to create vignettes, where we have control of where the center it positioned, I wouldn't get to hopeful this will be fixed at all. You use Nik Effects? I still use the old Google Free Version.
  8. Yes that is normal behavior for that type of brush.
  9. @Klababa, Where do those brushes come from? Did you create them? I can not replicate this using all the brushes I have installed.
  10. @davidj1, YouTube has a ton of tutorials. Most of them are "how to" create specific things. There are several geared toward beginners, walking through the interface, explaining various components. The how to tutorials, are valuable because you can transfer the techniques, processes to numerous projects, meaning learn how to create say a flower in designer, you can use that knowledge to create other things. What I do, is use the Search inside of YouTube. For example search for Affinity Designer tutorials. Here's a search using my browser search engine, searching for videos of Affinity Designer Tutorials https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=affinity+designer+tutorials&iax=videos&ia=videos
  11. That error code is a system kernel fail. According to Serif, their Affinity apps are User level, not system, and can not cause a system crash, a BSOD crash. However it can be pushing some element of your PC to the point where if it is weak, that element will in turn cause the crash. Here's a link to explain the ntoskrl BSOD crash. https://helpdeskgeek.com/why-ntoskrnl-exe-causes-high-cpu-and-how-to-fix-it/
  12. I don't use presets so I was not aware the Preset was not available for the standard ellipse. HOWEVER, if you click on the Convert to Donut or Convert to Pie, the Preset icon is available.
  13. Well of course, silly me.. 🤣🤣🤣, I guess instead of just lecturing me on this, you could have also pointed out how or where to go to have the context toolbar show. If you don't see the Context toolbar, go to the View Menu, then scroll down and make sure there's a check beside Context Toolbar.
  14. Welcome to the forums @stringy, I provided a link that explains what you're experiencing, and how to go about correcting it. Your screenshot shows your PC is having a problem accessing your boot drive, the drive it uses to boot from. https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/fix-inaccessible-boot-device-bsod
  15. You should have the option when starting with a shape, such as rectangle, ellipse, triangle ect. If not then there's something wrong with your UI. After selecting a shape, then drawing it out, you should see the cog icon in the context menu.
  16. Serif does not provide any information, other than what an active Beta version has included, when bugs are fixed. The Affinity Info Bot has not posted in this thread so it's not been fixed yet. I also checked through the list of Bug fixes for V2.6, and it's not included. So far there's no active beta so it may be a few weeks, months, years. 😳
  17. I had that Legacy page bookmarked because there were several tutorials that are no longer available. When you sign into Vimeo, you get the Private Video prompt. It basically means Serif has removed them.
  18. Ok, I can replicate it following your specific steps. Search for a brush Click on the brush found by the search Click on the Paint Brush tool. I was selecting the Paintbrush tool first before searching and selecting a brush. H/A Open CL enabled or not, the app crashes. Thanks for finding this.
  19. @Hilde, Welcome to the forums Can you elaborate on your cloud brush? Is it part of a set of brushes? If so what set and where did you obtain it? I've searched the brushes I have installed and do not have a cloud 033 brush. That said, I can not get AP to crash using the new Search feature.
  20. I'm seeing the same thing. Adding a separate Mask to an Adjustment layer which adjustment layers have their own built in masks. Nothing like masking a mask. I wonder if it would work, if I added 10 masks to an adjustment layer....🤣😆
  21. What OS and version are you using? What do you see, not see? Can you provide full screen screenshot, video, when you attempt to open a new document?
  22. @Rinom, Welcome to the forums Have you tried using the Insertion Buttons? If you don't see them in your Toolbar, then go to View>Customize Toolbar, locate it and and drag it to the Toolbar. The Icon/Button on the Right is for Insert into selection. Just have the Group, or some layer inside the group selected on the Layers stack, then press CTL + V and it should paste it inside that Group. I've tried this using the Copy/Paste, Placing, and it works for that. You can also use the Edit menu, Paste Inside, which the default shortcut is CTL + ALT + V. So for what you're wanting to do, it would be efficient to; CTL + C, > CTL + ALT + V. Just ensure the Group where you're wanting to copy to is selected first.
  23. Your screenshots show you're attempting to use the Inpainting on a Blank/Empty Pixel Layer. There's no pixels in that layer for it to work with. The 2 bottom layers are RAW layers, so at least one of them must be rasterized. You can use the Inpainting Brush on an Empty Pixel layer, IF you ensure Current Layer and Below is set in the context toolbar menu for the Inpainting Brush. Making a selection then using Edit>Inpainting, does not work on Blank/Empty Pixel Layers. IF you made sure on of the other layers in the layer stack is selected, you would still need to rasterize it. Selections are not Layer specific. So you could make a selection with the Blank Pixel layer selected, then in the layer stack choose another layer, and then use Edit>Inpainting, so long as the layer is a pixel layer.
  24. Those are just Nozzle Modes, not Blend modes. Go to the General Tab, under the sliders, you should find the Blend Modes drop down.
  25. Go to the Window menu and make sure Adjustment has a check beside it. By default it is docked in the group with Layers panel. Click on the Adjustment tab, then go to the specific Adjustment, like in your screenshot, Recolor, and you will see your preset there.
