  1. I second this. I will add that a toggle behaviour for isolating a layer or a mask would be helpful too. For example: alt+ click to reveal a mask, alt+click to return to the composite view.
  2. I also would like it, together with the option to display the NAME of the brush, sometimes the preview of just the tip of the brush doesn't tell much, especially if you have brushes with settings dedicated to specific tasks.
  3. :) There's already post with a similar title in the "Feature request": https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28794-numerical-input-for-curves-control-points/ but I can't say whether it's being considered (thought I really hope so).
  4. Actually you can: once you set up the gray and the threshold layer, open the info palette, and drop the target icon on the black spot. In this way you keep track of the values under that pin. Then, (and here is the cumbersome part, since we don't have a way to enter values directly nor we have a way of storing control points on every channel of the curve adjustment in one single click, which is VERY limiting), select each channel, grab the picker tool and drag until it reaches the value of 128 (you have to check it in the info palette). Of course, in PS you do it in just one click.
  5. I thought it was a bug of my windows beta version, I couldn't believe it wasn't implemented.. It would be nice also to have, together with the implementation of this blending mode, the equivalent of Photoshop's "Fill" and not just "Opacity", otherwise this mode (and other as well, namely Color Burn, Linear Burn, Color Dodge, Add (Linear Dodge), Soft Light, Overlay, Hard Light, Vivid Light, Linear Light, Hard Mix, and Difference ) it's not that much useful, because "Fill" operates somehow on the intensity of the blend mode, not just the degree of its visibility (i.e. its opacity).
  6. When using adjustment layers, if I change the blending mode in the layer panel, the blending mode isn't reflected in the adjustment panel, while if I change it in the adjustment panel it gets (correctly) updated in the layer panel.
  7. I'm happy to see that I can use the eraser tool on pixel masks, but I can only "paint" in black, and not in white (in PS, if the foreground color is white it erases the mask to black, and viceversa). Is this a bug or a future not implemented yet?
  8. It's possible with a curve adjustment blended to saturation, to desaturate you move the point on the curve UP if it's in the lower half (darks), DOWN if it's in the higher half (highlights).
  9. I have the same problem (although with lower specs: i7 2600k, 32gb and gtx770 and ssd)
  10. @Chris_K Thank you for your confirmation, glad to hear that! @SrPx Thank you for pointing me to the tool, I just missed that icon. Thank you also for all your suggestions, I'm just new to AP, so my remarks are made with no intention of blaming AP. I'm here just to improve it with my suggestions, because I'm a retoucher and you a graphic designer, and we have different needs and different workflows, so while for you some features are enough, for me they aren't. No complaints about the selection painting brush, it works as expected. I was just saying that one cannot substitute the other (same as in PS). Sure, but I cannot find shortcuts for setting the blending modes and for launching the macros. In PS you can. I do own PS (CS6) on top of having an annual subscription, and I'm aware it costed a dozen times more when I purchased it, so if we just compare the prices, AP is the winner and I can't wait to make a definitive switch. I know AP is fighting against a giant been there for exactly 20 years, so while I do agree that in some areas (16bit files handling for example) it performs better, I find it is still lacking in some areas. So, sure, it's very easy to use (actually no real problems of adaption), it's really promising and I'll keep an eye on its development and probably buy it when the official release for Windows comes out, but, as it is right now, I'll keep using PS in my daily work.
  11. As for me, since I couldn't experiment with it I don't know whether this feature is similar to the Magic Wand or to the Color Range (in PS) with regard to its functionality, but I confess I miss the absence of both those tools, because they both allow selections based on a specific colors/tones and, most importantly, they offer the ability to set a threshold (as well as the ability to limit the selection to contiguous pixels, as in the magic wand) for the selected tones/colors. And this is something I found all across the selective tools: the inability to set a custom "sensibility" to the selection (even the magnetic lasso tools behaves accordingly to some internal rules, which cannot be overwritten), and I find it very limiting. And by the way, the Selection brush tool is not comparable to the magic wand, because although the latter is pretty "crude" as a selection tool, in specific instances works far better than the former (if, for example, you really DON'T want to select something). Powerful selections comes from flexibility, and, in my opinion, for the moment there isn't enough.
  12. Is there a way to have a vector mask? And how and where can I save the paths I created?
  13. I second this, being able to set specific values by numbers would be very helpful. I'd also add the ability to: - move through control points with a shortcut (in PS is Shift++), - move the control point also by 10 units increments (in PS is Shift+ ↑) - set a control point AND a new sampler of the color picker when clicking on an image (maybe with a modifier, like shift+ctrl+leftclick) (by the way, I know we are talking about curves, but having the samplers numbered would be helpful, too)
  14. Thank you Chris for your reply, looking forward to seeing it implemented!
  15. Hello, I was wondering whether there is a way to hide the little preview when using the clone brush. Where can I find the settings for this? Thank you in advance
  16. Hello, I don't know whether this is a bug or a feature not implemented yet: if the latter, my apologies in advance. In the layers panel, I found that if I drag a layer onto the basket icon, the layer is trashed, but if I drag it onto the "new layer" icon, nothing happens, while I would expect a duplicate layer to be created. The same for the mask icon, nothing happens, while I would expect a new mask to be created, around the non-transparent pixels of that layer. Thank you for your consideration!
  17. Oh, many thanks, I got it: so I create a new category, let's say "Clone stamp", I create my brush preset, I assign it to the clone stamp and the category I just created, and when I want to use a certain preset I retrieve it from the list of that category, correct?
  18. Thank you for you reply! Amazing idea...I thought those where just shortcuts to add the adjustment layer (as in PS). What about the tools? For example, is it possible to store a combination of width/flow/opacity for a brush or a stamp?
  19. Hello, first time AP user, on windows 7 ultimate. I tried to add presets to adjustment layers but I cannot find a way to retrieve them: where are they? The same for the tools: I cannot even locate the tab to add presets (only for the crop tool?), where is it? (I'm a long time user of PS and, maybe wrongly, I assume AP has those features, too) Thank you for your assistance!
