  1. Hi Stuart_R, the video shows the same solution as in the post I quoted but in a much more visual way. This is of great value. Thank you! @milo_plex Great that this got solved. Cheers! d.
  2. Hello milo_plex, welcome to the forum. There have been similar problems before and it seems to be related to certain color profiles. You can try a solution that Sean describes in a step by step way in this post. I cannot promise that it will solve your problem but maybe it's worth a try. d.
  3. I can confirm this. The outline remains with the object (according to the color swatch) even though I removed the outline by undoing the assignment of an outline. This happens with text and with vector objects. But only with the first created item. d.
  4. Glad it worked out for you. We all learn all the time. And I am sure there will be a next 'extra' at some time. d.
  5. That's a good hint. I was not aware of that because for me the download worked flawlessly and I didn't look for them in the account section. Thanks. d.
  6. Hi mike21, glad to hear that most of the problems got straightended out. As far as I know the extras will be available until Nov. 16th. In regard to the download time of 45 minutes there should be plenty of time to get those 855 MB before the offer expires. I am just a regular forum user. In case of doubt I suggest to contact customer service as explained on this page: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/38701-contact-us/ Best regards, d.
  7. mike21, you have to start the retail version 1.5 to get the notification of the update to version 1.6. You can also login to the Affinity website and go to your account details. There you can download the latest version. Once you start the program after the update go to menu 'Help > Welcome'. This opens the welcome screen and in the main section you see an offer (and link) to download the free add-ons. (If you don't see this, try to flip through the various pages of this main section by clicking into the right half of the window). d.
  8. Thanks rubs, I got it sorted out, now. d.
  9. Hi Alfred, it was a false alarm from my side. The harddrive on which the downloaded archive was stored was full. That was the cause for not unpacking correctly. I moved everything to a different place and I now have all the files at hand. Thanks for chiming in. d.
  10. I am very sorry for a false alarm. I made a stupid mistake since I did not notice that the drive where my downloads are stored was full. That was the cause for the archive not to unpack correctly. After I moved the ZIP-file to a different drive everything worked as expected. I'm off to clean up the download drive d.
  11. First off, congratulations to the new release and many thanks for the additional bonus content. I also had a glimpse at the new web pages and the sample files. Very promising. Unfortunately I can confirm Kiarian's report. The 'QuickStart_Guide.pdf' doesn't extract. I also had problems to extract all files from the Tom Chalky archives. Some of them worked well, others gave an error message. d.
  12. Thank you for the quick add in the latest beta. I'm looking forward to see the other options show up as well d.
  13. Never mind. I restarted Designer and the 'Edit in Photo...' is back. d.
  14. I realise that there are big differences between the 'Layers' menu in AD and AP. Of course this makes sense in regard to specific functions like 'Convert to curves' (in AD). But why, for example, are the entries 'Hide' and 'Show' missing in AP? These are functions common to both programs. d.
  15. Thanks for another Beta version. File > Edit in Photo... is greyed out. Even if a document is open. Worked in .86 In AP 'Edit in Designer...' is ok. d.
  16. Hi shojtsy, I followed your steps and even raised the Gaussian Blur radius to 1000px so that AP became very slow. But I could not reproduce those artefacts. Rendering in the 'Performance' Tab is set to 'default'. d.
  17. Hello Catrin, I just tried it with an image (JPG) that I opened in AP and applied a curves adjustment. Then I saved it as an .afphoto file. I then drag and dropped the file into a blank AD document with no problem. I also copied all layers in AP and pasted them into AD with no problem or crash. A while ago there was a problem with drag and drop of documents but as far as I know this has been fixed. Are you sure you are on the latest beta versions? They are at 1.6.0.86. Perhaps you can provide a step by step explanation of what you are doing until the crash occurs? Then we can try to reproduce this. Best regards, d.
  18. Thank you for this fix. As for the dragon. To me it looks like it's drooling to play with the new beta d.
  19. Sorry, I missed the 'Select' Yes, indeed, there are two not concentric circles. Strange. d.
  20. I believe this is a feature of AD The inner circle indicates the hardness of the brush. By moving the mouse up and down you can adust the amount of hardness of it. d.
  21. Thank you and good luck. I understand that software development is worse than a sack full fleas d.
  22. Patrick, I do not see this in the current Beta 1.6.0.85 (tried this with British and US English, as well as with German). But, thanks for coming back to this. d.
  23. I tried it and it is working as expected. Thanks. d.
  24. For me the message box 'Global colour' looks different and doesn't offer recent colors anymore (see attachment). Am I doing something wrong? d.
