  1. One click on a line segment now creates a node. So, IMO it is better one click to select the line segment and delete it with <DELETE> key. Double click to create a node (double click on an existing node to delete it. It is much faster instead of using <DELTE> key).
  2. I don't agree they are "the next big thing" at all: 1. You can't change their color; 2. You depend on the resolution of the raster fonts.
  3. If double clicking on the "Move Tool" enters you in "Node Editing Mode", then why do we really need that "Node Tool" icon, at all? Just for show?
  4. It is better to give chance to "the new kids on the block". They know what is better for us.
  5. So, when the windows for paragraph and character styles are same, why the are two sets for their management: Create Paragraph Styles Update ......... Delete ......... Set no ............ and Create Character Styles Update ......... Delete ......... Set no ............ There should be only: Create TEXT Styles Update ......... Delete ......... Set no ............
  6. Yes, I like it and Photo & Designer can be joined and named as Affinity Design. This is because they share a lot of features and great percentage of designers use only those two kind of applications. But, even there is no chance for this it is not so bad to develop our imagination. :)
  7. Even the most complicated things can work very well, but they are still complicated.
  8. I can't see here any extra flexibility. BTW there is also a new term unseen up to now in styles terminology -- Group styles. Can you explain this? I've read the Help file but it wasn't of any help at all.
  9. @Dave Harris: If I want to apply paragraph style I will create it. If I want character one, I will also create it. It is not a hard work but it makes things clearer. No need of switching or paragraph to character style at all. It is simple as that.
  10. No, this kind of styles are absolutelly unpractical. If someone is good programmer, it does not mean that he is a good DTP artist or designer. They must ask experienced user what tools he needs for work and how to do that so it can serve the best to him. It is absolutelly wrong to make something their way because they think it is the best for them and for others -- well, maybe if only they plan to use the app for themselves.
  11. Thanks for clarifying it to me R C-R. I just wonder how to use styles. ;)
  12. No, it does not help at all. It just explains that they are really confusing.
  13. When you choose sliders for mixing colors, tint slider disappears, but just bellow the last slider you can choose opacity and noise. I think that there should another click be added for tint.
  14. Designing is not only vector or bitmap or layout. It is all together. You must know and use all 3 apps.
  15. I also think that text styles should be removed from Designer and Photo. They belong to Publisher. Artistic text is enough for these apps. About colors: Left click for the fill, right for the stroke -- just as Corel. Forget AI, PS and ID about this matter. Global colors are all that is needed to Designer, Photo and Publisher. There is no use of standard ones.
  16. Thank you very much Seneca, but it is too hard to decipher Affinity approach rather Quark's or InDesign's. At least, for me.
  17. I work with DTP apps 20+ years and it is the first time I see this combination of defining styles and it is very unusual (not to repeat myself).
  18. This is exactly the same window for defining character / paragraph styles. untitled.afphoto
  19. Options for Character and Paragraph styles are identical. Where did you see in Quark, InDesign, VivaDesigner... that there are elements of paragraph formating inside character styles? You MUST remove them. Example: Quark has paragraph styles without character formating options so you have to link separate character style. InDesign has paragraph styles WITH included character formating options AND separate (blind) character styles. BUT no one has character styles WITH included paragraph formating options inside. It's up to you what are you going to do next, but if you decide to make changes it is not so important which type of character/paragraph styles you will choose -- InDesign's or Quark's. If you don't make any changes then I am not interested in buying Publisher.
  20. Completely confusing and unusable. If A-team is going to implement into Pub -- :( :( :(
  21. @LCamachoDesign, be positive and you'll get everything you like on time. :)
  22. Hi filip89, just be patient. There is a lot work to do. As you can see both apps are at version 1.5. Just look behind and see what features Illustrator and Photoshop offered at version 1.5. Up to version 2.0 of Designer and Photo you will have myriad of features to play/work with.
  23. Well, I made some suggestions to the Affinity team about outdated infos and they corrected it after some time. So, all you have to do it is to tell them if something is wrong on their forum and they will do their best to make a correction. @MikeW: let's do it even simplier: everyone who is disapointed from Serif can just leave this forum without making the others nervous.
  24. An unwriten rule for bilboards is: width / 10 hight / 10 300 dpi So, if the width is 3 m, it is equal to 300 cm, then 300 / 10 = 30 cm width at 300 dpi.
