Thank you gentlemen! I think after reading the responses here, I should try to take this a little further. I need to work out if these characters can be seen side on, also try some more dynamic poses. Who knows where I will end up! Thanks again.

For some people the thought that they have invested many hours and much effort into learning what could be the wrong software is too much to take. So they breathe a sigh of relief when it turns out this fancy new software is missing a few features, writing such a review is a form of self soothing I guess.

So I guess you might be able to tell this piece is inspired a little bit by space invaders. I also tried to create a 2d platform game look. I think the challenge was knowing how much detail to leave out rather than add. Hopefully I've got the balance right! Please crit and thanks for your comments, oh and happy new year folks.

Fantastic! Personally I would tweak the lighting, maybe soften the shadows to create an area light effect. Also some contact shadows to push the realism. Really good though.
