  1. Beside the actual series of Workshops for Affinity Photo on iPad I have published 46 videos about the desktop version. Hope you enjoy and find it useful. Markus
  2. Hi, I have a series of tutorials about Affinity Photo iPad in german on Youtube:
  3. Hallo. Is it possible to measure color values on the ipad like with the Info panel on the desktop version? Thanks. Markus
  4. In photoshop I often use dodge and burn to refine masks. In AP the two tools seem to have no effect in masks. Has any one a suggestion why or how to use them in masks? Thanks.
  5. Hi, I had a spontaneous idea which I find very useful: A 100 % magnification around the mouse cursor while dragging in guides. It would help find the prefect spot without scaling the whole image to 100 %. Regards Markus
  6. Hi, There are a lot of great stuff in 1.5 but still points that I miss from a view of professional and high end image editing and workflow. Point 1 is real clipping paths. Paths that can be exported with TIFFs, PSDs and JPEGs and will be recognized in Apps like InDesign. A lot of product photography you can download from press centers from all sort of industries including clipping paths for users in press and advertising. I wonder why such an important feature in professional image workflow is still unsupported (or do I miss anything? found nothing on the forum). Point 2 is better curves handling. I think every high end image editor is using curves all of the time. But there is no way to select channels by shortcut, move curve points with keyboard arrows (it is almost impossible making small moves by mouse), get clipping alert in curves as in levels, clipping alerts for single channels and something that shows better where you are when you moving the whitepoint in curves, maybe a vertical line from the top to the bottom helping bringing the whitepoint close to the histogram. Another problem is using the picker in curves: If I try to change a point by mouse action on the image it always creates new points on the curve. Although it is very close to a still existing. It would be better if near points would be moved instead of creating a new near beside. I also miss a picker to set neutral grey in curves. I also wonder why the white balance picker affects the white balance but not the tint. Regards Markus
  7. Hi. In Affinity Photo 1.5 the Info panel shows a Value A for RGB und HSL and ∝ for LAB. What purpose does this have? Thanks. Markus
  8. No thought about advertising. Just wanted to show that I know what I am talking about. I know the problems with bad and wrong translations from writing about and teaching Photoshop. It is strange that I have to use the term Cyan and Zyan side by side when I have to describe how software works and as Jens described nobody in Germany would say »Selbstdefiniert«. As I said: The reason I put time in describing my experience about Affinity Photo is help fixing fails and weaknesses. For advertising reason it would be better putting my time in writing books and blog posts and record tutorials. If my suggestions are not helpful the Affinity Photo team could tell. No problem. Otherwise it would be waste of time and I do not have to much of it.
  9. Wrong is wrong. Experts in language may not always be experts in a subject area. There are a lot of bad and wrong translations in Adobes Apps too.
  10. I did not know where I should put this topic so I have chosen Feature Request. In the german version of AP Cyan ist translated in Zyan. This might be normally right but it is absolute unusual in publishing, printing, photography branches. We translate Yellow to Gelb but not Cyan to Zyan. It is a little strange to me writing my book about AP when I have to use Cyan für the CMYK colour and Zyan for the AP term. It is also not usual in the professional branches to translate Inch to Zoll. We always say Pixel per Inch oder Dots per Inch but never Dots per Zoll. It is quite confusing for beginners—not everybody in the german speaking countries knows that Zoll is Inch, though I think most do not know.
  11. Thank you Andrew. It ist Helligkeit in german and that means Lightness in english. I sometimes tend to mistake terms especially in foreign languages.
  12. Thanks. I was afraid this means something I do not know about colour. :)
  13. When I select Lab in the info panel the values are shown as L W B. I think L must be Lumance. But what do W and B stand for? And why the values are not named as L, a and b?
