  1. So you're saying on one monitor all is fine and the other the color looks funky? And if you move ap between them you can observe this? Are they the same kind of monitor or different?
  2. I ask because I have the 3rd gen ATV and no current plans for the new one but this app sounds like it would be very helpful to me... :P
  3. Is there any chance this app will be coming to devices other than the TV (cough iPad cough)?
  4. Affinity works as a raw editor but as stated above it doesn't do batch resizing yet. I would still highly recommend it though
  5. maybe we should ask to clarify because it is a full year different than their initial estimates... :(
  6. Hate to break it to you, https://twitter.com/MacAffinity/status/658926250346553344
  7. You guys are one of the most responsive dev teams I have ever seen, keep up the good work.
  8. Im just going off the fact that the publisher beta is currently expected end of 2016. I too hope the DAM is sooner. I want it badly, honestly more than publisher as I am not in that business, although I might pick it up for resumes and a couple other things like that.
  9. Depending on your needs, http://astropad.com/may be a great solution in the interim, havent used it but it looks cool and has good reviews.
  10. I have to say, its really cool to see a staff member give an honest answer that goes against their financial interest. Beyond that, you do have the option of free trials of both affinity and ACDSee. I would strongly recommend that. Additionally I can say that I have both affinity products and love them dearly, they are awesome as well as the dev team who are incredibly helpful and responsive in these forums. Finally while Affinity Photo is not a DAM, the affinity team has told us that they will be doing a DAM with more details coming in 2016, that said dont expect it to be here for at least 1-2 years in my estimate as publisher is scheduled before it as well as ongoing dev of AD and AP. I am using apple photos in the interim. hope this helps
  11. Yes, It has everything from how your camera works, explaining how it actually captures and counts photons to image editing etc. Id recommend a bookmark. and the best part? its free.
  12. The basics of HDR is exactly that merging different exposures, any software that has an HDR mode or button is automatically making the changes as it sees fit. The method in the tutorial gives the user much more control but is obviously much more manual. For a full explanation of dynamic ranges see this: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/dynamic-range.htm
  13. I currently use photos because I dont want to pay for lightroom (mostly because I dont like it), you can also use the finder if you are so inclined. Additionally Affinity has announced on these forums that they will be producing a DAM (Digital Asset Manager) in the future and have promised more details in 2016 my interpretation is that it will be 1-2 years at least before that ships and my intention is to use that once it does, assuming it is at the same standard as current products.
  14. I'm with Leigh i love the UI and while I get some people may want something different I think it's mostly overblown about how "bad" it is
  15. Beta only, they will go into MAS version in next update, expected before Christmas
  16. Yes I would guess that it would be similar to how current betas for AP and AD are handled but we will see.
  17. if you are willing to just pick one, me thinks you could alpha channel it using this tutorial:
