No. Please don't do that, or at least make it optional. Locking the artboard is great when you want to work with a document but don't want to constantly be selecting and moving the artboard. It's really annoying to be selecting near the edge of the page and constantly fighting with the software that thinks you want to move your artboard around.

You know you're missing a fundamental tool when people will use Inkscape just to get their work done.

Pretty much everyone is looking to get away from Photoshop and Illustrator. That's what I'm doing. I have a list of maybe a dozen features I absolutely require and Affinity manages to hit them all except something as basic as proper transforms. It doesn't look like they care either. All it takes is one thing not working and we're not leaving Adobe. What a missed opportunity.

Don't apologize for asking for these missing tools. They aren't features but rather expected basics.
