Xie Yuze got a reaction from dominik in NEW Functions I am lookin forward
you mean like symbol tools? Yeah it is true.
During I use affinity designer deeper and deeper I found some ways I need to achieve, maybe Adobe illustrator will be good at it. Now I have change product tools frequently. XD
but compare to adobe and affinity, affinity will do thing faster. And I like the UI design about Affinity. I hope I could 100 percent functions achieve in AD hahahah

Xie Yuze got a reaction from Jowday in NEW Functions I am lookin forward
1.something like more powerful Transform tools or anything else...?
I have some work needs me to do some mockup, for the perspective, I need to change the object shape as much as I could. The product of adobe could help me do that, but affinity it seems no capability to do so well.
2.something like blend tool
Because blend tool is stunning in adobe illustrator some cool style I want to present is not ideal in AD.
3.more powerful DIY vector brush
I have looked a lot of tutorial of that by creating vector shape to create vector brush and use them into the pen line, I am looking forward to achieve that function in AD. Blend tool and DIY vector brush will be help each other to creating.
4.more convenient node controller
This idea starting at yesterday I wanna try to make iOS icon, after iOS 7 the icons is not simple like Cornering shapes. It is made of more nodes like G2 curves. So I found I need to control 4 corners one by one I wish I could select nodes I want, and control it together just like cornering shapes function, it could select all corners if you want to.
......
update:
I think that we need this functions in AD. This function is only in AP. In this function I could use perspective tool to make mockup.
hope staffs will see it

Xie Yuze reacted to cadobir in transform Selections
I would like the ability to transform selections by pulling nodes to lengthen or shorten sides, enlarge or shrink entire selections, and warp selections. I use this functionality in Photoshop constantly. Affinity Photo is becoming a worthy competitor, but this functionality is missing.

Xie Yuze reacted to GarryP in TEXT BACKGROUND COLOR
My attached video shows one way to do this in all three Affinity applications for Artistic Text.
There will be other ways and a different method may be required if you are using Frame Text.
If the fix in my video does not work then tell us which application you are using and what sort of text you are using.

Xie Yuze got a reaction from Alfred in Whether affinity photo supports cropping of imported pictures?
Is that the meaning of the words "clip"and"crop" are different? Wow now I get it thanks!(I never imagine even I can learn English from here XD)

That’s correct, Garry. If it were cropped/masked you would see a ‘Crop’ icon on the thumbnail in the Layers panel, unlike clipping/nesting where you don’t. (There’s also a difference in the amount of indentation of the thumbnail, but it’s quite subtle.)
When the cropping or clipping object is entirely enclosed by the image there is no visual difference, but if the two objects are merely overlapping you can see that a clipping object remains visible where it doesn’t overlap but a cropping object completely disappears.

In addition to masking, as mentioned above, you can also crop images by putting them inside shape/curve layers, see attached image where a copy of the Image Layer has been cropped (technically I think it's called 'clipped' in this instance) by a Rectangle Layer.

Crop tool works only the whole document as AP is meant to be a photo editor (as opposed to Designer and Publisher where each object can be cropped individually).
You can though mask each image layer in composite quite easily by drawing a marquee around the image area you want to keep and clicking Mask Layer icon in the Layers palette.
