  1. Oh, thanks! that's correct! I probably messed up with the snapping options at some point... Thanks a lot, turned out it was not a bug, but a feature this time
  2. Hello, In some situations object outlines stay permanent after hovering over them, even if the layer that contains them is blocked. It doesn't appear when exporting, but it's a bit annoying especially when having quite a few layers. I attached a file with the specific issue ( bug-afdesigner-permanent-object-outlines-win11.afdesign ), so it hopefully can be replicated. Software and system info: Affinity designer version: 2.5.5 OS: Windows 11 Home Version: 22H2 OS version: 22621.4317 Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1041.0 PC: Lenovo Legion 15ACH6H GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop (GA 106M) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H Display: 2x 1440p monitors, issue appears on both bug-afdesigner-permanent-object-outlines-win11.afdesign
  3. Just reposting this v1 feature request in the v2 feedback forum. Would be good to know if implementing this feature is even possible, I assume the inner software architecture doesn't allow it (only bitmaps) and it might only be possible with a hacky and unstable implementation, but if you can confirm it at least we can close the question with a definite answer. Here's the v1 thread:
  4. My impression is that being a small company and using a one-time license purchase for its software (as opposed to a subscription like most of the rest), serif doesn't have the resources needed to do this. Instead, it focuses them into improving and maintaining that which makes more business sense, since it gives a monthly income: the assets market. If that's the case, I wouldn't mind changing to a yearly subscription for example, if that means adding and maintaining those extra features it seems to be unable to add right now.
  5. Ok, bad analogy or wrong word, english is not my first language. The correct analogy is not really the point, the 'having a basic feature missing' is, but I'll bite. Let's change it to a car that doesn't have a parking brake, or a glove compartment, or brake lights, or a trunk or whatever basic feature of a car you can think of.
  6. All of the design packages, including free and open source ones I tried have this feature, except AD. For example, this is like buying a car and discovering it doesn't have a mirror in the rearview, and when you ask for it, be told that you can take a photograph from the vantage point of the rearview, print it, cut it in the shape of the rearview and fit it in, and that should do the trick. Except it doesn't, because you need it not for decor, but for driving. Or also be told that you can buy another car that has a working rearview in it and use that car instead when you want to check, drive for a bit, then go back to your first car to drive it too so they are in sync. And finally, be told that It's not the car dealer's fault that you didn't check one by one for all of the hundreds of features and pieces that any car is supposed to have before you bought it. I don't know about you, but if I found a car dealer like that, I'd think twice about buying anything else from him again.
  7. I found this interesting open source tool concept at HackerNews today: https://www.cmyr.net/blog/hyperbezier.html This is not really a feature request, but maybe something to keep on the radar. From the blog post: You can play with it directly in the browser, and there's a github repo available. Although it's in an early stage, it already looks quite useful for its purpose.
  8. +1 : Vector patterns are way more versatile than bitmap based ones, and implementing them would also improve compatibility SVG.
