biteything reacted to ymugmike in UI too small
I use a 27 inch iMac at the default top resolution. While text in Mail and and photographs are clear, the icon size around the Affinity suit of programs is too small with no way to easily increase them. As with Blender, there is a solution - and Blender is free.

I have had Affinity for a while now, but just started to give it a go, unfortunately that's about as far as I have got, Ive changed the tool bar to the largest size, but quite honestly I see no difference, I'm trying to cut the cord from Adobe, but this isn't doing it for me, I need bigger icons, I've just compared it to Photoshop CC, and the icons are so much bigger. After all of these years why aren't Affinity listening to their customer base !

Let's hope that the next update will include this option that so many people need. The example from Blender, a free open source program, shows how elegant it could be.

Hi RalfL, cjchambers,
Unfortunately Windows doesn't offer much controls to work around this other than scaling the whole interface or changing the resolution so i'm afraid there isn't any sort of workaround for now. I'm passing these concerns to the dev team/logging the issue for comments but it's not something easy/quick to fix as it eventually requires to redesign all icons (for three apps) for larger sizes along with other app modifications to accommodate these options/change.

Just posting to ask if anyone has yet found any sort of workaround for this issue?
I recently bought a 4K monitor specifically for photo editing and I find I'm having to use 200% scaling in windows control panel for it to be anywhere near usable. In other words, I haven't actually gained any resolution over my old monitor! I have tried changing font sizes in windows control panel too, but that doesn't help with the icons and it kinda puts everything out of alignment. I love Affinity Photo but I'm pretty disappointed about this, to be honest, and the fact that it's been an issue since 2016 is particularly disappointing. Maybe I'm being naive but surely it's an incredibly easy fix to implement?!

Hi MaryAnne
The UI was made smaller in the latest update to accommodate the use of the smaller iPad models with a 7.9" screen. A few users have requested a settings option to return the UI to it's previous size, and so this may be an option we add in the future. In the meantime I'll move this thread to Feature Requests and Feedback so our devs can see your request!

Is it just me, or are the tool icons on the iPad smaller and/or harder to see with the latest update to Designer?
Is there a way to resize the icons on the iPad (I haven't been able to find it!)?
I may be desperate enough to get the 12" iPad, if the icons were proportionately larger. Does anyone know if the icons would be larger, or would the drawing space just be larger? Anybody?
Thanks in advance!

I agree, the icons were the perfect size on the 12.9" pro before the update

I have an 11” and i could barely tap the trash can icon in the lower left corner during portrait mode... i have to look and aim, or tap multiple times. Kinda throws me off my groove.

Please consider a user-selectable UI size similar to the one currently used in Adobe Illustrator. I need larger UI on both Ipad and Mac. Thanks!

Yes they are smaller. This is not good for me either. I would like to see an option to have the bigger size icons.

You can open AD files on AP and viceversa, to copy paste on another program what I do is select the object, go to the export dialog and tap the share option and then copy, that way I can paste as png anywhere, and don’t forget to select “selection without background”
