  1. In a way yes and no. My brain would do all the thought processes, AI button the action(s). Laziness no, at 71 and disabled, what seems easy for most is extremely difficult, at times, for me. Initially I was captivated by OP question, three improvements. When working on any project, 100 questions, what and how. My solution, read each forum post and try to gain some knowledge, while enjoying the project or process I am trying to achieve. I have to remind myself it’s a hobby, not a business. I know many are professional level artist and each improvement is paramount in their workflow. Many years ago in a military training setting it was stated: “Continuous improvement is better then delayed Perfection.”
  2. Not to give up, I approached HSL adjustment today. If I select the Master, first circle, it did indeed change the selection. I selected upper dress to make the process clearer. However, after successfully getting all to work late last night, only my Master selection worked today. changing to another color circle, resulted in no change to the selection. I'll attach image of Master color selection.
  3. Thank you. Head between my legs. A simple observation of his layers, clearly populated, unwarranted post, on my part.
  4. I wanted to add a simple emoji, for some reason stated it was no allowed. We must always smile, especially at ourselves. I was not trying to be offensive to your serious thread.
  5. 1. AI feature to make photo what I think it should be, without any work. 2 & 3 Same as 1
  6. I have identical results. Drag and drop does not work, unless I create a new document first.
  7. This is what I expected. Numerous attempts could not apply the color changes as expected. I did reboot and it worked. I really did not change and selection or choose select all as it I wanted all I would not make selection. As a test, I selected dress, Layers, Invert and nothing happened. i rebooted macOS and selected dress and the dress colors changed., I will attempt to replicate tomorrow. I did post screen capture below. Thank you, happy it works for you.
  8. ActuallyI rebooted and the colors changed this time. I cannot replicate inconstancy of operations. I will post Channels, as requested. I did see video on the new 1.7 to add subsets. Title AffinityPhoto-Channels: Selections, by James Ritson. A lot more steps, but it worked in his demonstration.
  9. This is the screened capture, the dress selected. same if I refine or not. Screen Recording 2019-06-14 at 6.26.40 PM.mov
  10. I open image with lady wearing dress. This is the Background Layer. On the Background Layer I select the dress and refine. I have her total dress now selected and add HSL Adjustment Layer. I see her dress is still select; however, moving any sliders on the HSL layer will not change colors in the dress, it applies to Background Layer. If I invert layer, it will change the dress only. My thought process is that you make a selection to confined the adjustments to a specific selection. It, as I do it, does not work. Please understand that this is my limited understanding of AP. Thank you.
  11. If I make a selection of a dress, it seems logically that I want to contain my changes to the selection. However, if I select a dress, add Adjustment, it will not apply to the selection. If I Invert, then I can adjust within the selection. Is it me or just how it works? Example: on main image layer, I make selection of a dress. Then I select Adjustment, HSL. No changes will be made within the selection. If I invert, the HSL Adjustment will be made within the selection. I know it has a simple explanation that escapes me Thanks for guidelance.
  12. I have the Intuos 3, Model PTZ-930. WACOM confirmed that they will not update driver for this model macOS Mojave. Tablet works; however, no pressure, tilt or any other features. Also Adobe Painter 13, no Mojave support. Lifetime of upgrading hardware and software.
  13. I did redo the project. Inpainting barely removed the leaves and repeated process several times. I then selected background layer and changed context tool bar to current layer and no problem removing unwanted leaves. I guess the lesson was meant to show that multiple layers could be used to remove unwanted items; however, IMHO it worked better on single layer. Not questioning lesson, just providing feedback. So much to comprehend processes that will be beneficial when working on my photos.
  14. Red Box print problem actually his last video post on his channel. https://youtu.be/jiPOrSO16lM
  15. I found Digitally Fearless YouTube channel a bear bone, cut to the chase, problem solving Affinity Photo videos. I am not associated, in any manner, with his channel or promoting audience. Example: Red Box print problem solved. https://youtu.be/x9mYuKeylvc
  16. I know I created the new pixel layer above the Background Layer and recall naming it Inpainting I may had then clicked on the Background layer; however, as it did not work, I did click the other layer. I will redo the project from step one. I do thank you for letting me know it worked for you, My question now: if I changed Context Toolbar to Current layer, should Inpainting then work on the Background layer?
  17. Affinity Photo WorkBook, Peak Country 2: Lumsdale Falls: I hit a stiff wall on page 164, Enhancing the Image. I tripled checked the selection of the Background (Pixel) image, the layer order was as stated in work book. I set Inpainting Brush (J), With and Hardness. In context toolbar I changed from Current Layer to Current Layer & Below. As I painted over the leafs I notice no red paint showing, as normal, with Inpainting Brush and leaf was not removed. I tried numerous times, same results; however, I did notice that occasionally the rendering bar would scroll, as if it was attempting to render “something”. I did try changing to Current Layer, to see if brush would paint in red, no. My largest mistake was not screen recording process to post. I just toss in the towel and continued to next step, Saturating Tones. I completed Chapter, without another problem. Posting, just in case, someone else runs into this problem or if someone can replicate problem. IMac, 2019, eight Core, I9, SSD internal/external and Affinity Photo 1.7.
  18. Please consider adding subject iPhones, if possible, lens support for RAW processing. Pro Camera App has RAW format; however, when I import to Affinity it opens in Affinity Photo Persona, not develop, as other RAW images do. Apple may not provide date, no clue.
  19. James outstanding video and content. Now to see you putting all this in action, holding my breath. Thank you.
  20. As I just had complete eye exam in April and passed with flying colors with my reading glasses, read books, newspapers, etc., daily, my guess style over readability. I do understand that one cannot ensure 100% will be satisfied. I will enjoy the book, it’s just a pain for my eyes to adjust to the print, especially on color paper.
  21. If I could employee someone to hold camera as I make my way through book, zooming, I could zoom on print.
  22. I tried twice uploading IPad Pro Photo. Error notice 200. I selected Click to choose files.
