I think filling a signature in helps a lot, having "at a glance" details can kill a multitude of investigative questions prior to giving help on the actual question; which can be cryptic at times. It baffles me how many people post their name or email as a post title nullifying most search capabilities later on.

A few subtle hints for making posts.

This is great but very few will see it unless accidentally come across it.  But is very informative and to the point. I still prefer separating applications as they do for iPad.

  2. True believer that tags help but solution, IMHO, is separate AP forum by applications.  Many will think we are not entitled to our own. The same response, from the same have and always been against any change.  So this is suck it up post, not going to happen.  If this was such a bad suggestion, the iPad forum would not be separated by applications.  Serif managed to achieve that, so I don’t understand why it’s a problem.  It is true that  individuals can learn form many post that touch on similar operations across platforms.  I just see it as a customer request to allow user to subscribe to their AP application or applications of their interest.  As is, I scroll through 90% or more questions without reading. My choice, many see it as my lost.  Your opinion, my opinion, really not a point of discussion, just a statement on my part.

Do you mean the 'Edit In' feature of Apple Photos? If so, it is still there.

Based on @Lee D post I opened Apple Photos, right clicked on the Photo and Edit With, no Edit In.  I failed at the time to check if double clicking the Apple Photo, Edit, ..., Edit In function worked.  So I tried. I made changes and behold, as if AP was designed to do so, my changes were saved to Apple Photos.  It actually worked.  I had forgotten, as @Lee D pointed out that Export, Share, Save Image was iPad only function.  The problems I experienced last 18 months, I would just Export to HD, bypassing Save to Apple Photos, if on iMac. So I guess it works for some, based on first post in thread.

The method @Cecil mentions Export > Share > Save is for saving to Photos from Affinity Photo on iPadOS. On macOS the issue can sometimes be intermittent, try the following workflow.

    1. In Photos, right click your image and select Edit With > Affinity Photo
    2. Make adjustments to the image
    3. Use File > Save, if prompted select Save Flattened. If you have Photos open you will see the image update with the adjustments
    4. In Affinity Photo File > Close

When did AP delete/removed Edit In from macOS?  I never revisited this on macOS, as I always received Failed Error trying to save.

I am not sure what to make of this but as of about 3 am this morning local time every new forum topic I have viewed loads start to finish in no more than 2-3 seconds, including graphics-heavy ones like the ones that previously were loading very slowly.

I have changed nothing in the Safari, router, or any other settings on my Macs, my iPad, or any other device in the house. Nothing has been restarted; AFAIK everything here is exactly as it was when I wrote my last post above.

I have not yet browsed any new topic with a large & long video in it, just several with lots of static images, so it is possible I will still see the issue with them, but barring that it seems like this issue has somehow fixed itself.

    Weirder & weirder!

I spoke too soon. When I open https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/124146-publisher-unlinking-text-box-in-a-book/&tab=comments#comment-680729 the graphics load very slowly. 😞

Do you have the same problem with your iPad?

I do not see any signature in replies for any post.

You can switch off other people's signatures on the same screen where you set up your own signature.

If you can't find it or that is not what you mean please start another thread so as not to derail this one

Sorry, I did post another thread that I could not create new Topic, Safari iPadOS 14 update.  As of today, the problem has disappeared.

I do thank you as it was turned off, now on to see signatures.

@Cecil: The above should explain your issue with creating topics (including in the beta forums if you want). Additionally, rather than starting from Home and having to pick a forum from that list, you can navigate to the forum you want to post in, and use the Start Topic button at the top of that forum.

Walt thank you for your replies.  I do understand the procedures and posted many new Topics in the past.  Safari, iPadOS 14.0 update, was just ugly yesterday as it works today.  I did, yesterday, try the expansion arrow o (categoriesj many times.

Please don't suggest that anyone should do that. The problem I am having has nothing to do with the version of any Affinity app, only with how slowly the Safari browser displays graphics included in forum posts, be they pngs, videos, or whatever, regardless of the software used to create or post them to this forum..

It is the same when I use any version of the Safari browser installed on any of my Macs or on my iPad. This would suggest to me that there is something about the forum software itself that is causing this, except that as best as I can tell, nobody else has reported experiencing the same problem. That suggests there may be some setting I can change to eliminate it, so I am hoping someone knows what that might be & will be kind enough to mention it in a reply.

That is why I started this topic.

I agree, however if unable to create a new Topic and the 1.9.0 Beta release closed for comments, I had no means to communicate my problem. I posted a screenshot on the grayed out subjects to post new Topics.

Gray does not necessarily mean "inactive". Can you provide a screenshot? Did you try clicking on one of the Create Topic links? (If topic creation is not allowed, there won't be a link/button to click at all, in my experience with these forums.)

Grayed out may not indicate “inactive”; however, I cannot click on any to create new topic.  I wanted to create New Topic to ask question concerning AP going from 1.8.4 to Beta 1.90.  As stated above, the Apple Photos problems, for me, still does not allow me to save changes.  I can export to different HD location or Share, but not back to Apple Photos, causes error notice.  This has been confirmed for over a year by moderators, no fix.

There was no 1.8.5 for MacOS as it was not needed. It existed on Windows solely to fix some Windows-specific usability issues that were created by 1.8.4.

Hoping to get a fix for Apple Photos problem, over 18 months has passed without a fix.  I don’t think I or many will purchase 2.0 without a proven and tested fix.

Do you know why most of the Create new Topic are grayed out?  May not be a problem for others but except Tutorial area, all were grayed out on iPadOS.
