  1. I never said thank you for this. Works like a charm.
  2. +1, I got tripped up by this a few times moving between desktop and iPad.
  3. I'd really like to hear from Serif on this one.
  4. Hey, guys. I’ve recently become aware of an alternative method for frequency separation. While I’ve been fine with the automated method within AP, in order to utilize the newer method, we’d need apply image to work as it does in PS. We specifically need to be able to select other layers, the blending mode, the scale and offset. If there are workarounds for all of this, please educate me. If not, how difficult would this be to implement in next version?
  5. Unfortunately, because of the way the Pencil input works now, I get lots of inadvertent color picker selections. We really need true desktop modifier keys on either side of the canvas. This would replicate the way most of us work on desktop with a Wacom and keyboard. #option #space #shift #control #command
  6. So there's no way to set this to save to Dropbox, correct?
  7. Thanks for the tip on selecting multiple layers. The reason I need masks is so I don't have to invert the adjustment so that it only affects where I brush and to have the actual brush strokes decoupled from the adjustment for visual aids in tutorials.
  8. Hey, everyone. I have a few common tasks I perform on all my images, so I thought I'd better start learning how to use macros. One of the things I do is create 2 curve adjustments with masks for my dodge and burn process. I usually manually select both curves and their masks and put them in a folder. I then duplicate the folder twice, as I need 3 groups for my workflow. Local, Global and Hair/Clothes. When trying to create this in a macro, I hit a snag because you can't select both curves and their masks and you get a "Cannot record set current selection". Is there a way to get around this? If not, can this behavior be changed in future versions? I'd be surprised if people haven't come up against this already. BTW, when is macro recording coming to iPad? This software just keeps getting better and better, keep up the great work.
  9. I’ve found that when dodging and burning in a small area with small strokes, the color picker will appear. This brings up the issue of modifier keys and how if they were implemented as they are on desktop, we could avoid these annoyances and mistaken inputs. Please put the main modifier keys at the sides of the canvas and restore the behavior of the brush/color picker to their desktop behavior. CMD, OPT, SHFT, CTRL, SPC please.
  10. It would be great if you could set the default save location to Dropbox, along with iPad and iCloud. I don't want to subscribe to iCloud for more storage and I'd like to take advantage of my Dropbox space. I do this already, of course, but it would be nice to have it as default in settings.
  11. I think this issue dates back to the last Apple Store version, but when importing or opening a tiff (may also happen when going from RAW), saving out changes the file name case from capital initials to lower case. For example Sophia_Delicate_2_17_18 to sophia_delicate_2_17_18. I don’t run iOS betas, so that’s not the issue. Not a huge problem, but weird.
  12. There seems to be an app that interfaces with the powermate, so it can be detected by iOS apparently. Gauntlet thrown, Serif. JK http://manuals.roskosch.de/smartsdr-ios-tools/
  13. I don't know if there's any device like this that works with iOS, but I just used the power mate as an example
  14. It would be great if there was some kind of progress bar in Affinity Photo when saving a copy or exporting to cloud services. As it stands now, you need to get out of Affinity Photo and go to your cloud app of choice and check progress there. Maybe the Files integration could help in this regard.
  15. I'm not even sure if this works on desktop version, but it might be useful to have the Griffin Powermate (or similar) work to change brush size or a number of other assignable functions. Since i've pretty much moved to iPad for all my Affinity Photo needs, this is my priority, but I could see why the desktop version might be Sertif's.
  16. I've been wanting to make a series of videos for youtube on my process for portrait retouching, but here goes. Most of the time I start by importing my images into Capture One for RAW processing and color grading. I then export 16bit Tiffs to Dropbox and import those in Affinity Photo for iPad. There, I'll do my skin cleanup, dodge and burn, and a few other finishing touches. I'll also do my crop and export to final sizes from the iPad. Those will be exported to Dropbox for storage and distribution. I'll post my vids if I ever get around to making them
