  1. Hi @Dan C, Unfortunately, that didn't work but I think it was a much larger issue with Windows updates. A full reinstall of Windows has done the trick and now I'm a happy user of the Affinity Suite of software again. Thanks for your assistance with this.
  2. Hi @Dan C, Thanks for coming back to me about this as I feel I've begun to lose my mind with it. I've attached the latest log.txt document but there are no .dmp files. Not sure if it's because this is a fresh install for version 2.0.4. I've checked all the software you've mentioned and have none of them installed. I'm not sure if this is related but I can't open the display setting on my PC either and I've not been able to fix that at all. The same issue is happening for Affinity Photo 2 and Affinity Publisher 2, they are no longer opening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Log.txt Windows Log.evtx
  3. Hi everyone, I've looked all over the web for this issue but can't find anything to help with it. Affinity Designer 2.0.4 is not loading for me at all! It loads the first dialog box and then hangs forever. Even holding ctrl during start up and messing around with all those setting are not fixing it. I haven't been able to load it on my PC for about 2 weeks but works absolutely fine on my Surface Pro X. I've just done a complete uninstall and reinstall and it still hangs on loading and doesn't get anywhere. My PC is more than capable of running it as it normally loads in about 5 seconds. Anyone able to assist? Can't get a crash report because it simply won't load and the repair function hasn't worked. Many thanks.
  4. Evening everyone, I've been using Affinity Designer for about 10 months now and I absolutely love it. It's made me get back into my art and I've been drawing using it every day since purchasing it. My question I have: is there anyway to optimise it for Windows Surface Pro 3? I understand that it's a pretty dated machine but I find that some of the raster brushes at a large pixel size are very sluggish and I have to paint and then just wait for it to finish and just hope it turns out how I need it to. I get frustrated a little because the iPad has its own version and seems to run problem free but I was wondering if there was a way to make it run faster or at least quicker with the raster brushes. I normally run at a resolution of 3000x3000 with a DPI of 300 so I can appreciate the resolution is high but if any one has any suggestions to make it run faster I would be extremely grateful.
  5. Hey everyone, I've been seeing a lot of videos and images on Instagram recently with people using Letter Grids to make fantastic lettering. There's a guy on Instagram called @stefankunz who actually sells them but they work for Procreate, Photoshop and Illustrator. Does anyone know if they're easy to make yourself or if there are any to purchase for the Affinity range of software?
  6. Sorted it. Needed at least 3GB of free storage and it seemed to install fine. Looking forward to having a play around with the update.
  7. Hi, Anyone else having the most recent build update fail right at the end of installation? No error codes to report and it's happened 3 times now. Running it on Surface Pro 3.
  8. Hi Sean, I'll try and replicate it again. It mainly happened to me when I was using the stylus and after a number of layer movements. Usually after about 10 -15. It would come up with e no entry icon on the mouse pointer and then the keyboard would pop up . Once the keyboard was closed the ghost of the layer you're attempting to move would be stuck. That's when it had crashed and the Surface would have to be restarted. I'll try and get it recorded this weekend for you.
  9. Ok. Glad it's already known. Just wanted to add it on to my post in case it was missed.
  10. Hi all, I'm loving the current BETA version of Affinity Designer on my Surface Pro 3. I keep experiencing a problem when I'm moving pixel mask layers onto vector layers it tries to load my onscreen keyboard. When it closes the keyboard it freezes. I then have to close the app from the taskbar using right click. It then closes the current project but I have to repeat the process to close the actual program. The bigger problem with this is that I have to completely restart the tablet for the software to load again. This normally seems to happen when in tablet mode AND using the stylus to move the layers but has happened to me on once using it in desktop mode. Also, I find that duplicating a shape doesn't copy it correctly. In the stable version of Designer it would copy the properties and duplicate accordingly but currently it appears to double the movement values. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same issues with this.
  11. Ha ha ha firstdefence Actually I've done a few more since them and have created ……...
  12. Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to Affinity Designer and Graphic Illustration as a whole. I've been interested in graphic design for some years and have recently decided to give it a go and I have to admit, this software has given me a second wind for harking back to my art days. This last week I've been toying around with flat vectors and trying to develop a style of my own. I've created this new thing called "Char-EGG-ters" where by I draw famous characters/people in the form of eggs. I'd really appreciate any feedback about it.
