OdFori
Hi, Was wondering if it is possible to place some vector art inside a table cell as a background to the cell text. I hope so. Thanks.
Joachim_L
No, right now only colours / gradients are possible. To achieve what you want, you can duplicate the (empty) table, fill the cells with your vector art and move it below your text table. firstdefence
You could underlay your vector art using place image and group the table and the vector art. If you wanted icons say to the left of a cell you could inset the cells left setting to accommodate the text etc see image below. carl123
I don't think cells can have true individual backgrounds as yet but the entire table can have a true background. So you could exploit that fact to give all or some cells their own pseudo cell backgrounds. The cell backgrounds will scale with the table, allow text on top and keeps everything on one layer (the table) Screenshot and file attached table-background.afpub OdFori 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. carl123
Select the table Select the Fill Tool Select Fill & Frame in the context toolbar drop-downs Set type to bitmap & choose an image OdFori 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. OdFori
Okay thanks guys. I think this should be a feature tho. To be able to 'dive' into a cell the same way as you can into an object and let it have 'children' objects, mask, adjustment layers, etc. The functionality is already there. I think Affinity can harness it.
