In the Develop persona I use "Detail Refinement" to increase the sharpness of my photo, but when I switch to the Photo persona much of this sharpness seems to disappear and I end up using the "Unsharp Mask" to bring it back up again.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi LochNess Me,

Welcome to the forums :)

Does this only happen with RAW files? Could you also please tell me what cameras RAW files you are using and if possible provide a screen recording demonstrating the issue.

Thanks

C

Probably not!  The problem is the way images are displayed if they're not at 100% zoom means that you're not getting a true representation of what the sharpening's doing.  Try zooming in to 100% (ctrl 1), do your sharpening, develop the image and then check the image at 100% in the Photo persona - they should look the same.  If you want more detail, search this forum for "mip maps".

Better results with "mipmaps" (one word).
