Aerogel Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 In Affinity Designer, is there a way to hide the blue outline surrounding the vectors on selected objects - similarly to how Adobe Illustrator hides the blue lines going forward by pressing "CTRL + H"? I often compare adjustments to a design by doing undos/redos and the blue vector outline changes what the design looks like. Thanks for any help! andreyshinami 1 Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forms, Aerogel. You might try pressing the space bar and see if that helps. Aerogel Posted July 29, 2019 Author Posted July 29, 2019 Thanks for your quick response, @walt.farrell! The spacebar helps in some scenarios. I also found turning on "Hide Selection While Dragging" (screenshot below) to be helpful. As of right now, It seems that Affinity Designer currently doesn't have the functionality to turn off the vector selection at all times. Again, thank you Walt. walt.farrell 1 Quote

Update: Further working with Designer, I discovered that the blue outline goes away when you select a tool that doesn't use the outline. A tool like zoom (Z) or hand/view (H). If doing an undo/redo comparison and you would like to not have the blue lines displaying, you can select the zoom (Z) or hand/view (H) tool before toggling through the undo/redo comparisons. iumbra Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Hi, I need to hide this selector when adjusting colors, it is especially critical when working on an object with a border - the border is partially hidden behind this blue selector and makes subtle color adjustments nearly impossible - any idea how to go about it? Habaneroa Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Yes I always disable this in other programs as it drives me mad especially on detailed objects. I can’t see what I am doing when I select objects. It’s very frustrating and we need a disable option on this. It slows my work down considerably. I am using an iPad. andreyshinami and Alfred 2 Quote
evtonic3 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 How can I do this on the iPad version? Quote
Habaneroa Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I don’t know and would like to be able to. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Sorry, @evtonic3 and @Habaneroa, but I don't know the answer to that. I suggest asking in the iPad part of the forum, where the question is more likely to be seen by more iPad users who may be able to help. Habaneroa Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Hi. I tried that and it makes no difference. It’s not the snapping lines we want to remove which is what you thought due to the squares example. Here is an example of the issue. As you click and select the design a blue selection outline appears. This should be optional. It obscures your view. I used this as an example but it makes all designs difficult to really see what you want to see. Especially if you are a detail artist. Quote
