Hi, Chris, yes I believe I have used the refine tool. I can attach the file if you give me a Dropbox link.

Another question, why I lately rarely get the little number/s that tell me that there is/are answer to my posts?

Thanks for the file. I'm not seeing this in the current beta and I think I've tried most of the combinations in the Refine dialog. Am I missing something or is it fixed for you too?

This is weird: just before uploading I opened the file and saw the problem, did not save the file again and just uploaded it. Now I opened the very same file and the problem is not there. I do not know what to think but there must be a problem. I will post if I see the problem again.

Hello, I worked another photo and got the same problem. Here are the steps that lead to the problem:

Selected hairs of stem by hand (first photo), then inverted selection, then cut. As you can see in the second screen shot the selected areas around the stem are now darker than what they should be.

I have the file with the history saved if you are interested.

I actually downloaded the file since the dropbox was still there.

then I selected (free hand no refine) hairs from another stem and expanded the selection a little toward the margins of the petal visible in the lower left.

After I cur the inverted selection the selected areas turned darker.

Screen shots are in a sequence

I got it on the original file you sent me. Simply went to Select > Grow/Shrink and grew it by 1% and then cut.

I'll poke it some more and ask dev to look at it. Thanks :)
