Can't set non-printing objects, margins do not exclude objects from printing

How can I designate non-printing objects or layers in Affinity Publisher? This is a very important function for creating design aids such as page numbers that will not be printed or other regularly-occurring features that should never appear in print or export. If it is "on the roadmap", when can I expect it to be implemented? The absence of this feature is a serious roadblock to my successfully using Affinity Publisher as my primary layout program. I have tried placing objects outside the margins, to no effect. I do not want to use a bleed as a place to hide stuff. I need to be able to create non-printing objects both document wide and on a per-page basis. Please respond. Thank you.

I would put them on a Master Page, name them TURN OFF and then before export turn them off on the Master Page. Not as good as having some sort of Not Printable/Not Exportable layer on each Page and or Master Page.

Thanks, I figured that out. I agree that it's not as good as having some sort of Not Printable/Not Exportable layer on each Page and or Master Page. I hope it's not too hard to implement; it's a very valuable feature.

By the way, to TURN OFF Master Pages so that they don't print, YOU HAVE TO TURN THEM OFF ON EVERY SINGLE PAGE.

Yes would be nice to be able to set text boxes or images to non-print. (Yes, I see there are workarounds.)

Have to keep some information private but need to have proofs approved, then at publish time, simply turn them off (so they then print.)

Presumably it would be nice to be able to track them so you know what pages they are on, or optional placeholder indication that is placed on top at print to indicate something will be there.

I am hoping this would be possible in the future in Designer and Publisher.

Yes, we need global layers, as I said at other forum posts before.

Sorry, but that's not true, cadobir. Turning off a Text Frame or other layer on the Master Page makes it invisible on all pages associated with that Master, and it doesn't print. One click on the Master Page to make them invisible, one click to make them visible again.

And if you have multiple items on the Master that should be invisible, you can just put them in a Layer layer , and turn that single Layer off or on.
