"(Loading 0%)" stuck in title bar? [APub & AD workflow]

In Affinity Publisher I used File > Edit In Designer to work on a page containing only vectors in a group. Much to my regret, I discovered there was no way to go back to APub to save the edits I made in AD, so in AD I just closed the file.

Later, while I had the original APub document open in APub, in Affinity Designer I opened the saved file via Open > Open Recent. As expected, this just showed me the single page file I saved after I used File > Edit In Designer, but it was the same .afpub file open in APub.

Experimentally, I made a small change to the document in AD -- just added a couple of Layer containers & places the various vectors in it. When I then saved it, in the title bar where it normally would say "[modified]" until the file was saved, instead it said "[Loading 0%]" & that never went away. The file closed normally, indicating a successful save, but when I hid Affinity Designer, revealing Affinity Publisher, there was this notice:

1175581274_docmustbeclosed.jpg.b88c367d24e87aae23e23163275b5a05.jpg

I clicked the OK button, reopened the .afpub document again & the changes I made in Affinity Designer were there, so I guess that much went right, but if I had made any unsaved changes in Affinity Publisher while the file was open there, I suspect I would have lost them all.

Note: No cloud storage was involved, just Affinity Publisher & Affinity Designer running locally on my Mac. All apps, etc. as in my sig below.

I don't recall the 0% loading thing but the rest sounds like my experience yesterday.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Did you happen to have the same .afpub document open in both Affinity Publisher & Affinity Designer when you saved & closed the AD one?
