Text Following a line is fine and well understood. What I’m talking about is a text “avoiding” an object.. perhaps text wrap is the wrong wording. :) See my video as explanation. The invisible circle has been made in Affinity documents on Mac / opened on affinity designer on Mac / resaved and then opened on my iPad where I can’t find any way to replicate this effect that I use quite often.

@Rytterfalk I see what you mean. The text box is actually conforming to the circle shape. Nice effect but as yet (I suspect) not implemented in iPad Designer, but Mods may know differently. You might need to post in ' Feature request'  thread to get it added.. Maybe when (if ever) Publisher comes to iPad we will see this.

But as you see, i’m already in designer for iPad. So the feature is there - what’s missing is a checkbox to turn it on and off.

The good news is that Designer on iPad 'honours' many settings saved to desktop files. The bad news is it doesn’t always offer those settings to allow further adjustments. Bleed on printing is a good example. Always honoured in 1.6 but Bleed setting. only incorporated into v1.7.

If the text feature is there I'm sure someone will confirm it, but I don't think it is.

I was looking for this, too. Still, it’s awesome that I can work with Publisher files on the iPad at all, without having to wait for the official iPad app! I wrote all my text in Publisher for Mac, and am now adding diagrams. It’s easier to draw the diagrams on the iPad, so I’ll add them there, and then edit the layout on the Mac. They just overlap the text in the meantime...

Hi Devs,

Any plans to have this feature in the roadmap?

Edit: It seems that I can turn a shape in to a text frame by double tapping it while textframe tool is active. As a workaround it seems to be sufficient for my immediate needs, thanks :)

@Johannes @VeeMax

This has worked in Affinity Photo for iPad since as long ago as I can remember, simply make a shape and click inside it with the text frame tool.
