dave-cole Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Since AP 1.7 Update, When I open a Canon CR2 file into the Develop Persona, it flashes with White and Red diagonal flashing lines. This lasts for around 10 seconds, then sometimes it clears and sometimes it leaves the Red or White lines covering the photo. Anyone else with same problem? Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 12, 2019 Staff Posted June 12, 2019 Hi dave-cole, Do you mind attaching the CR2 file for us to take look please? Thank you. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff MEB Posted June 13, 2019 Staff Posted June 13, 2019 Hi dave-cole, What's you Mac specs? can you take a screenshot of the Apple > About This Mac dialog please? If you go to Affinity Photo Preferences, Performance section and untick Enable Metal compute acceleration (on bottom) does it still does the same? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
dave-cole Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Hi, Here are the specs that you asked for. Also, when I unticked, Enable Metal Compute, it seems to have cured the problem. My wife has an identical laptop and hers was doing the self same thing. So it wasn't just something wrong with mine Many thanks for your help. Dave Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 13, 2019 Staff Posted June 13, 2019 Hi dave-cole, It's possible it's something specific to a few graphic chips only. Thanks for all the info. I'm filling a bug report with the data you provided to see if we can reproduce the issue here with a machine with similar specs/graphic config. I will get back to you as soon as I have some information. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
dave-cole Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Thank you so much for your prompt replies to my problem. The answer you gave was accurate and cured the problem first time. There must be others out there with the same problem. I will look forward to you getting back to me with the final outcome. Thanks Dave Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 13, 2019 Staff Posted June 13, 2019 Hi Dave-cole, Do you mind installing the latest Affinity Photo Customer Beta 1.7.1.140 released a few minutes ago (keep the Mac App Store installed since it's needed to validate the Customer Beta) and check/load you RAW files again here (make sure Enable Metal compute acceleration is ticked). Does they load properly now with Metal acceleration turned ON? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
dave-cole Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Hi, I am so sorry that I will not be able to do this. The reason is that I am about to take both laptops into store to get RAM and Hard Drive upgraded. They will be in there for a couple of days. Sorry Dave Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 13, 2019 Staff Posted June 13, 2019 No worries Dave. By the time you have them back, the changes/improvements made in this Customer Beta should already be integrated/implemented in the retail version. So, update the retail as you do normally through the Mac App Store, try loading the RAW's again (make sure Metal compute acceleration is enabled) and let us know if you still have issues. Hopefully everything should work fine. Thank you for your support. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
