pSi
I have some ”issues” with Affinity photo update. It’s basically useless for my humble RAW needs in it’s current state. The update broke Apple photos develop integration completely: whatever I do in Affinity photo makes the images really dark and over-saturated in Photos- black levels go sky high. Interface: what on earth is the logic behind spreading the clipped tones/shadows buttons all over the interface in the develop persona? What about overexposure button ? Where might that be? Inconsistent functionality: The before/after slider’s gone from Develop persona. It must be somewhere because it appears in random places but not where I need it. Cropping tool: in the Develop persona different proportions can be found under mode-dropdown menu but in photo persona they are under the settings gear next to mode-dropdown. What is the point? This is basic stuff that is just annoying. I’m afraid I haven’t found all mistakes yet. I also tested white balance (both auto in Develop persona and slider). The make a clear blue sky greenish gray? The app also freezes frequently. I have a 2015 iMac that used to run Affinity Photo just perfectly. That should not be the issue.
mr.Man
I have similar issues since updating to v1.7.0... after developing an image the shadow levels rocket up into useless levels just like Affinity is trying to develop an image that is more or less evenly lit. so effectively the raw converter is useless as it does not develop what I want but whatever it wants. gripp
I am also suffering from the broken link between v1.7 and editing in MacOS Photo app. Changes that I have already made in Photos App are not reflected when I then open the same image in Affinity Photo. Please can you fix this soon. Thanks
Staff Chris B Posted August 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 21, 2019 Hi pSi, Can you confirm if you are still seeing these issues in 1.7.2? I believe your first issue may still be apparent in 1.7.2. Could you extend on this and provide a file and steps to follow just so I can make sure we're on the same page? Thanks. gripp
I am now of v1.7.2 of Affinity Photo and and it is still not reflecting any changes I've made in Mojave Photos app. Attached is a screen-shot of an edited photo on the right (cropped and sky darkened), and on the left is the same photo when imports into Affinity Photos. This used to work correctly in v1.6. Please can you fix this as it is very annoying and means I have to do all my preliminary editing (straightening, cropping etc) in Affinity Photo before making any edits in Mojave Photo. Staff MEB Posted August 22, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 22, 2019 Hi gripp, Welcome to Affinity Forums Are you using the Edit With > Affinity Photo command from the Image menu or right-clicking an image in Photo and using the same command from the context toolbar to send the image from Apple Photos to Affinity Photo? If so this is a know issues we are looking into. Currently the changes made in Affinity Photo are not saved back to Photos. Instead of that workflow use this one: double-click the thumbnail in Apple Photos to display that image only in Apple Photos then click the Edit button on the top right of the interface, click the ellipsis icon agin in the same area (top right of the interface) and select the Edit in affinity Photo extension. This sends the image to Affinity Photo for editing, dperform the changes/edits you want, close that document tab in Affinity and save the changes and the image will be sent back to Apple Photos with the edits you made.
