What the title says  -- is there a toggle to hide the marching ants of a selection on the iPad version of Affinity photo?

Thanks.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I understand how to deselect. . . What I'm looking for is a way to hide the marching ants while still being selected. . . In photoshop it's a command-H keyboard shortcut. Does not deselect, just hides the ants so you can preview things without the distraction of little wavy lines, too.

You can’t do exactly as you describe, but there’s a ‘Reselect’ option (just below ‘Deselect’ on the menu) which has the same effect.

Ah, but for this method you'd first have to make the adjustment and then see how it looks deselected, correct? Meaning, as distinct from the photoshop method whereby you can preview the adjustment live while not seeing the marching ants at the same time.

Alternatively you can duplicate your selection into a new layer, deselect the marching ants and apply adjustments to just the new layer, making sure it’s above the original layer of course or nested within the new layer.  You can also convert that layer back into a matching ants selection using my muds macros, search this site. In V1.7 the convert layer to selection macro is no longer required as it is now available as a selection command.
