thomaso
When opening an .afpub it always seems to open with palette "Colors" in Swatches panels, regardless of the palette I used to save the file before. The bug seems to be that this Colors swatches always open in RGB look, regardless of the documents color space. So for a CMYK document it seems to be necessary to switch the palette in the Swatches Panel pulldown menu from "Colors" to another palette and back to make the "Colors" swatches occure in the documents color space look. macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
Staff Sean P Posted May 1, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 1, 2019 Hi Thomaso, This is by design, and has always been the case. Swatches are displayed in the colour mode they were saved as.

That confuses me, Sean, as it doesn't seem to be true on Windows, for Publisher .305 (and, I think, for the other beta applications; haven't checked the retail versions). I will double check with both Mac and Windows developers to find out which should be the actual behaviour! I do apologise! walt.farrell

Also, as I read thomaso's post that started this topic, the color swatches displayed incorrectly when they first appeared, but if he switched to a different swatch and back to Colors it became correct for the CMYK color space. So it might be only the initial display that was incorrect on Mac, but is correct on Windows. thomaso 1 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.

As Walt pointed out again: I might have to temporarily toggle the default Colors palette in a CMYK document to make it appear less RGB-alive than after launching the app. I am not shure if it is visible in a screenshot via web (I don't see a difference in Walt's screenshots) but hopefully the first swatch (cmyk) in the list occurs obviously different in that sample: macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
