Change Crop Tool Default Settings

Recommended Posts

Just ran into this issue cropping a bunch of website pics. Very tedious to have to select Original aspect ratio each time. Please add defaults, or remember last used, or constrain the crop box with shift like in marquee selection or something. Thanks.

I am using the Beta test version and in that the crop aspect ratio is sticky (Remembers the last choice I made). I guess it will be implemented in the next revision. It works very well.

I have 2.1 and it doesn't seem to stick for me. If I set a fixed crop size, crop the image, then switch to the next image, the crop settings revert to something else.

If you're having problems in 2.1, you should post your own topic in the Questions part of the forum, or in the appropriate Bugs part of the forum for your OS. It won't get the proper attention here, in this old V1 Feedback topic.

Over four years later and you still can't default to "original ratio"... what is up with that?

In 2.1 it is supposed to default to the last option you used. So, as I said above, if you're not seeing that I would suggest you create a new topic in Questions or Bugs.

Okay, my apologies. I have not upgraded to version 2. When it was out on a trial basis I found it to have some same bugs I was complaining about in version 1. I started on Photoshop 0.63 but was fed up with the subscription. Quite honestly, I find Affinity Photo clumsy, even compared to CS 5,6 but I'm adapting. I'll review the features list on version 2 and see if I care to invest. Again, my apologies, I didn't read the entire thread, I'm working on photos. 🙂
