So, Yes, this does happen with all fonts.
And, No, this not just an old Postscript Type 1 font.

The presence of Arial Unicode MS tells me this is Windows 7. Correct?

Given that this started with .221, and assuming you have the correct settings in Windows for your language and keyboard - this looks like a new bug in APub.

My system is Windows 10 64bit
Processor Intel Core i7 3930K CPU
The only font I have installed in addition to the existing fonts is Lato.
Before installing .221, I never had this problem.

This appears to be a new bug, so let's hope an Affinity rep sees it.

You may want to make your topic title more specific if you can edit it.

But it may take them awhile to get to it, as they're very busy.

I believe this is due to the autocorrect of smart quotes option in preferences. We are reworking this in the meantime disabling that option should get you the expected characters.
