Adobe RGB

Hi folks,  

 

my printing company has asked me to use Adobe RGB for my colour profile, but looking in the Preferences that isn't one of the options.  Is it called something else or just AD not support it as yet?  Thanks.

You would set it up under the document settings as a color profile to use for the respective document.

I don't think it's in the list though.  Should it be in RGB8 or 16 or both?

it should be Adobe RGB

It‘s an icc profile like sRGB but has a slightly wider gamut than that.

my list doesnt look like that sadly.  I've got the top 2 then Apple, but my box doesnt say select ICC Profile.

is it because I havent got the adobe rgb on my PC.  Can I download it for free?

It would be so much easier if you said if you are using Designer or Photo and on a Mac or a PC !!!

I'm trying to download the Adobe RGB profile from their site - hopefully this will resolve things and it will automatically appear in the options from now on.  Apologies if I've been a bit dense.

Tap in the Colour Profile menu (as shown in my grab) and do a screen grab.

I find it very hard to believe that Adobe RGB (1998) is not in there.

See Adobe ICC Profiles download for Windows though you can get (download) it also from other internet resources. Or even better this link here ...

Having downloaded the file from Adobe, i've gone looking in windows/system32/spool/drivers/colour and now Adobe RGB is there, but it's still not appearing in my options within Designer

Adobe RGB is 8 bit Colour Format (RGB/8)  only.

Well it's got me bamboozled.   I've looked in both the widows folder and the affinity designer folder and a Adobe rgb file is present in both but there's just nothing showing in the drop down.   Is there any setting that you can put on that would be incompatible with it and thus prevent it from appearing?  Has anyone else had this issue?  If not would it be best to reinstall the programme?

Yes.   Still no joy.

Can you check the following location to see if the AdobeRGB icc profile is listed as these are provided by the app, but aren't installed into the default Windows location for ICC profiles.

C:\Program Files>Affinity>Affinity Designer>Resources>icc

Yes I've looked there and it's at the top, but it still doesnt appear in the actual program

Right click and choose "Install", if it doesn't work copy it over manual as Administrator.

Just did that and started AD again but no change.   Makes no sense
