ronnyb
The escape key doesn't cancel out of the crop function on my 2017 15" TouchBar MBP. It would be great if it did, or if you added a Cancel button on the TouchBar. Thanks for all you do! Staff Chris B Posted December 19, 2018 Staff Share Posted December 19, 2018 Reading previous threads and replies from the developers, I don't think they would add functionality to leave the Crop Tool by pressing the esc key. The esc key will cancel a drag for the Crop Tool but won't exit out of that tool. On Windows, pressing C (Crop Tool shortcut) will exit the Crop but it doesn't on macOS so perhaps this could be the improvement? Yes, specially since there is an Apply and Cancel button on the Context bar, and only an apply on the TouchBar... Seems inconsistent to me, and I miss having a keyboard shortcut. Esc should be implemented as Cancel throughout the apps as needed. Most of us power users ALWAYS have the left hand(or right for lefties) on the keyboard. It's just intuitive. Thanks for your consideration. 2021 16” Macbook Pro w/ M1 Max 10c cpu /24c gpu, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Sonoma 14.4.1 2018 11" iPad Pro w/ A12X cpu/gpu, 256 GB, iPadOS

The functionality is already there, and hitting Esc WHILE dragging seems like a very unlikely use case. Much more common is to release the drag and THEN hit Cmd -Z (Undo). Please reconsider adding Esc keyboard equivalent to Cancel out of the Crop tool. I sorely miss this. 2021 16” Macbook Pro w/ M1 Max 10c cpu /24c gpu, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Sonoma 14.4.1 2018 11" iPad Pro w/ A12X cpu/gpu, 256 GB, iPadOS
