Digital Traveler Posted December 15, 2018 Posted December 15, 2018 Greetings to you, New at graphic designing and looked on the forum in regards to similar questions about making the text editable from PSD files. The challenge is, there's no videos showing the process of how to do it after you hit edit then preference then general then import psd text ............ After following instructions and rebooting system, when you go to the layer where the text is, then click on it then hit the artistic text tool then the words still don't change. When will a tutorial video be made similar to the pdf editable text one be shown to assist us? Thank you for your time. Quote
R C-R Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 Enabling Preferences > Tools > Import PSD text as text rather than bitmap is all there is to it. However, you need to do this before importing the PSD document for it to do anything. The PSD text is imported either as text or as a bitmap image when you open the file. If it is imported as a bitmap image, it is no longer text, just another part of the image. Alfred Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 It’s worth noting that it isn’t currently possible to export editable PSD text from the Affinity apps. No, you can edit the text and you can export it to PDF as text, but if you export to PSD it will be rasterized. Have been making several attempts to edit the text of a psd file but nothing changes. Would you be able to refer a tutorial video showing how one edits the text of a psd file after it opens? Quote

On Affinity designer, the psd file of a t shirt design is uploaded, then I go to the section that has text to try and edit it but the tool still doesn't allow it. Is that clear or am I still confusing you? Quote
v_kyr Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Well if no pixel based styled text is used in the imported/opened PSD file then it should usually be editable in AD. Might give sometimes mismatch if a PSD uses fonts you don't have installed. However ...
