ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 No smooth rendering of masks. Circle mask with stroke in it. macOS 10.14.1
Staff Sean P Posted November 21, 2018 Staff Posted November 21, 2018 Hi ajharok, I've just tried a quick test file myself and it looks fine - would you be able to attach a copy of your AFDesign file please? Thanks!
Staff MEB Posted November 21, 2018 Staff Posted November 21, 2018 Hi ajharok, Welcome to Affinity Forums Go to Affinity Designer Preferences, Performance section and tick Use precise clipping. This is not a bug. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 MEB thank you for the info. Now it's ok
ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 In AD 1.6.1 i don't have this selected and the mask borders look ok. In 1.7 i have to select this. What is the difference for different rendering in 1.6.1 and 1.7?
Staff MEB Posted November 21, 2018 Staff Posted November 21, 2018 Are you sure you are comparing the exact same document in both versions of the app? That setting only applies/affects clipped objects (which is what you have done in the attached file above), not masked objects. I can't open the attached file in Designer v1.6.1 (on Mac) - seems you have saved it in v 1.7.0.3. There shouldn't be any differences regarding this on both versions of Designer. Staff Sean P Posted November 21, 2018 Staff Posted November 21, 2018 In addition to what MEB says, it only affects objects that have their Stroke set to Align: Inner - this did occur in both 1.6 and 1.7 for me.
ajharok Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 Ok, I see. In 1.6.1 if the stroke is set to Align Inner i have the same not smoth edge if the Use precise clipping is not selected. Everything ok and clear now Tnx
