Object not filling as intended

Recommended Posts

Hey, folks.

I'm helping create a fantasy map for a friend and have been working on it for a while now. The majority of this file is working fine but the main continent (layer "Main Region") is not filling as intended. The outline is correct, but the filled in area up top should be negative space and the negative space in the center should be filled. I've tried several times to resolve this but I'm not even sure how it happened. Everything was working fine the other day. I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

Not sure what you did, maybe some sort of boolean operation?

Sorry, but don't know what you mean by "filled in area up top should be negative space and the negative space in the center should be filled" but it is very early in the UK ;)

If you "Divide" the layer. You can fill it (or the component parts). Then group it. You might need to remove a couple of bits from the group.Don't know if that will do it for you or help in any way ?

That probably explains why you’re writing in such short ‘sentences’. :P

You have a lot of repeated main regions upon divide, anyway, I just picked one of the repeated Main Region Layers and placed the lake region above the selected main region and just boolean subtracted it.

I'm not sure what you did differently than my attempts, but it worked. Thank you so much! I appreciate the help, guys.
