Didix
Hi there Panasonic produces focus stacks by putting the images in a mp4 movie. Is Affinity Photo able to import this mp4? If not, what procedure do you recommend? -Didix
Staff Gabe Posted October 15, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 15, 2018 Hi @Didix, We do not support any video files. I recommend you use the standard procedure of taking photos and stack them up in Affinity Photo, using the Focus Merge feature. Thanks, Gabe. However, Panasonic's method is very fast, especially for objects that do not sit around for minutes .. 2 hours ago, John Rostron said: Googling "get frames from mp4" gives you a range of possibilities. Yes, I have seen that, but I hoped to get a recommendation whether there is a freeware that performs well. -Didix John Rostron
DrBob53
Agree this should be a feature in AP Photo. In the mean time, using ffmpeg: (ffmpeg.org) Open terminal/console window. Change directory to where your video file exists. e.g. cd ~/Videos and hit enter. Type ffmpeg -i p110117.mp4 p110117_%d.jpg -hide_banner. Hit enter. Then you'll have all of your individual frames in the same directory as your original video file. Old Bruce
