Andredu Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Hi, Hyphenation not working. I'm on a Mac running El Capitan. Lots of experience in Illustrator. Thanks for any suggestion, Andre Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Welcome to the Affinity forums, Andre. Whether automatic hyphenation works seems to depend on a variety of factors, including: Whether you have an appropriate hyphenation dictionary for the language installed. Without knowing the language you're trying to use I can't comment further on that. Whether you specify the language for the text properly in the Character panel (screenshot below). Whether you specify automatic hyphenation and a good set of hyphenation options in the Paragraph panel (screenshot of the correct section of the panel below, but I have not specified good options and cannot comment on what will work best). What version of Affinity Publisher you're using. Hyphenation changes were made in both .133 and .139, if I remember correctly. okmike Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 I noticed that every time I went to the Hyphenation section as shown above that it showed off, I turned it on yet again and then moved my cursor to another paragraph and it was off-- LOL. You cannot just turn it on, you have to select the entire document and then turn it on! This program works a lot different from MS Publisher. Quote

You can also set it for the [No Style] style. Select a paragraph and turn that item on. Go to Edit > Defaults > Synchronize from Selection and then immediately go to Edit > Defaults > Save. Now new stuff will have that on, old stuff will still need to have it turned on. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
