When cmd-return in text ...

Recommended Posts

When CMD-RETURN in a text frame the cursor change in 'add a new text frame' (with a +) and I can't change anymore the the content of my text frame.

All I can do is create a new text frame and after that if i try to modify the text in my first text frame I have again the tool to add a new text frame.

By default, Cmd+Return on a Mac (or Ctrl+Enter on Windows) converts the selected object to curves. If you’ve finished entering text, either choose a different tool or click away from the text object to deselect it.

OK, I understand but I think

Cmd+Return in a text frame (by example in a document with 50 pages with text-frame linked) may be dangerous (I try <cmd-return> to insert a page break). Everything is converted in curves ! with no editing possibilities except 'undo', 'undo', ...

I also think this is a bad choice for a default keyboard-shortcut. Though at least I'm happy I can change it.

In other Software it was always something with -O- like outlines or -P- like paths. The return or enter key is too elementary in writing to remap it to something destructive.
