Is Designer for iPad compatible with Designer for Windows?

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I have a stupid question. Is Designer for iPad compatible with Designer for Windows? Can I open a file from iPad (Designer) on my PC?
I do not have the iPad yet, but I do not like drawing on a graphic tablet without a display.
Will the iPad 9.7 "be suitable? Or does it have a small display? Which pen (pencil) do you recommend?

Hi @J a n,

Designer and Photo project files are fully compatible across platforms.

As for the Tablet/pencil, we cannot say if it's suitable for you or not but bear in mind that we only support the Apple Pencil. We cannot guarantee the functionality of any other 3rd party pencils.

Thanks,

Gabe.

Any capacitive stylus should work at least as well as the capacitive styli that most of us have at the ends of our arms, but Apple Pencil clearly brings additional benefits for iPads which support it.

I have the 2018 (non-pro) 9.7" iPad & Affinity Designer for iPad works well with it. The screen is a bit cramped & the thicker, non-laminated display causes a small amount of parallax error, but nothing I can't live with, particularly considering the large price difference compared to the pro models.

For this model, currently the only non-pro one that supports the Apple Pencil, I very strongly recommend the Pencil as by far the best choice.
