imagegod
Sorry, I'm disabled, so I'm not sure what the proper nomenclature is: Question: If I rotate an image, I get a 'blank' checkerboard background (not sure what that's called). I'd like to color the background, but neither 'brush' nor 'fill' work. I tried layers 'Merge Down/Merge Visible' but no luck. However, when I exported to JPEG, it merged, giving me a non-blank (i.e. 'white') background that I could color. Obviously there's got to be an easier way...any help would be greatly appreciated...many thanks!
firstdefence
That checkerboard indicates Transparency, You can create a rectangular shape, drag it so that its behind the image and colour it with your chosen colour. JPEG doesn't have transparency so it will fill in the transparent space. PNG files can have transparency so if ever you need to have an image with no background you can use PNG.
